Summer Closing Tape

Martin Saupe aka Ton Elite has been on GD’s podcast list for a very long time. His set for Room84 really gave us a feel of what we wanted to publish in the future. And we loved him, especially because of his ability to create sets with a consistent vibe that is intense, mysterious and sometimes very melodically dark.

TonElite is one of those artists who have a strong musical personality. And that’s why, it’s hard not to play anything that is released by him. This is because his style is far from confused.  He knows exactly what he likes and he knows how to deliver that in a complete and tight package whose individual characteristics compliment each other. And so, when you think of listening to him, you know exactly what you will get… and you will be satisfied.

In this case, those individual characteristics are his set’s track selection, mixing and ultimately the vibe. His 64th podcast for Getting Deeper is a very underground (literally. Think dark, sweaty underground rooms) and industrial set. It begins with deeper, slower sounds and eventually moves on to harder, pulsating beats that will send you to sinister trips.

We love it. We love the mysterious and classy extravagance that comes with it. It’s a witching hour of musical madness that discreetly creeps on you. If that is your appetite, and we know that these kinds of appetites are very rare, you will love this set. We really hope that you enjoy it as much as we do.

Next up from #RAMRewind is the massive B-side from DnB heavyweight Sub Focus, who exploded onto the scene back in the early 2000s. With an impressively catchy percussive hook and a breakdown that rocks the record’s core, no wonder this track proved to be such a dancefloor monstrosity. 

Sub Focus was discovered when a friend passed his demo CD onto Ram Records label boss, Andy C. He was then signed to Ram Records sister label Frequency Recordings with his first release "Down The Drain" in 2003.

Aproveitando o embalo do lançamento do EP de "Boa Noite", que rendeu milhares de plays mundo afora, resolvemos convidar mais um dos nossos produtores favoritos para criar uma sexta versão da track: O Omulu. Carioca, Omulu é conhecido pela renovação de ritmos nacionais e, mais recentemente, produções inspiradas no funk. É também um dos expoentes da "rasteirinha", nova onda do funk caracterizada pelo BPM mais lento e beats mais graves, numa velocidade parecida à do reggaeton. O estilo virou tendência dentro e fora do Brasil, ganhando destaque na rádio BBC e atenção de grandes artistas da música eletrônica, como Diplo, Buraka Som Sistema e Munchi. Com uma forte presença no subgênero, algumas das faixas do produtor já bateram a marca de 500 mil plays no Youtube. sind Flo und Flo, die sich 2012 durch ihr gemeinsames „Hobby“ - die Musik - kennengelernt haben. 
  
Nach zahlreichen Unterhaltungen, nächtelangen Probierens und dem Wunsch, mehr aus dem Hobby „Musik“ zu machen, schlossen sich die beiden zusammen und sind seit Juni 2013 als „Smashed Faces“ unterwegs. 
  
Danach ging es ganz schnell und es folgten einige Auftritte in verschiedenen Clubs des Landes. Im Sommer des Jahres 2014 war Ihr bisher größter Erfolg – ein Auftritt auf der Mainstage beim Sputnik Spring Break. 
  
Smashed Faces sind DJ´s die mit Leidenschaft ihre Ziele verfolgen und diese Leidenschaft auch in ihre eigen produzierten Tracks und Remixe zum Ausdruck bringen. 
Ihr Style geht in den Bereich Minimal und Techno. 

BIO (ENGLISH)

Smashed Faces are Flo and Flo, who met through their shared hobby - music - and serve as co-founders of the artist and event management ageny "Beat*Work*Club".

After numerous chattings and nightlong rehearsals as well as urging to make more out of their hobby of music they allied up and tour around as "Smashed faces" ever since June 2013. Everthing went fast so they had several gigs in different clubs within the country, their greatest success being a performance on the mainstage of "Sputnik Spring Break" in summer 2014. 

Smashed Faces are DJ's who follow their dreams with passion and put every bit of it into their self-produced tracks and remixes. Their style ranges from Minimal to Techno.
