As if ‘Ocarina’ couldn’t get any better, today Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike announce the vocal version of their huge international smash, with none other than UK chantreuse Katy B on vocals.

Katy, who won the 2012 NME ‘Dancefloor Anthem’ Award for ‘Broken Record’ and has released a raft of hits from chart-topping album ‘One A Mission’, is widely known for collaborating with EDM producers including Magnetic Man, Geeneus and Zinc. Now she lends her distinctive voice to ‘Ocarina’, taking one of Dimitri & Mike’s most popular tracks to a whole new level.

The track, which was a co-production with Smash The House protégés Wolfpack and was the inaugural TomorrowWorld Anthem, topping the Beatport Top 100, has been a massive fan favourite since it featured on the 2012 Tomorrowland After Movie soundtrack. With the original edit shooting straight to the #1 position in a matter of days, it now remains to be seen if having Katy B on the vocal mix will give the brothers the massive cross-over mainstream hit that seems increasingly on the cards. Quickie from us: "HOLY SHIT, FINALLY THIS FUCKING SONG IS OUT... This song was meant to be an Edit to promote a show we had at LIV in december. Initially we had Disclosure's 'Fire Starts to Burn' over the track and thought the drop was way to hot to use someone else's vocal. So we had this ridiculous idea to create a song around the concept of the #SELFIE. We really weren't sure if this was the most brilliant idea, or worst idea we ever had... So we had our home girl Alexis come over and within an hour we had 2 verses and the song done. At that point in time we thought it was hilarious but we were quite sure how it would be received, but seeing as we aren't pussbags and music is about experimenting and having fun, we put it out. 2 days later the song had 200k plays and about 1% negative feedback. So we went to Dim Mak who we always loved as a label and asked them if they were interested in it, if we went back in added a new verse and changed the drops. 6 Weeks later here we are, with an amazing Music Video compiled with all this great submitted #Selfies from Fans, Friends, DJS and Celebs. So we hope you all enjoy the tune as much as we did putting this whole project together. This is our first EVER Original release and it would mean the world to us if you all bought the song, shared the video and took #SELFIE video... ”

#SELFIE

So here's my remix to Light's And Thunder. 

There's many things about this remix.
I brought in a bunch of the older Ton!c sounds but every single lead you hear in the drop (except the sawtooth dutch lead and the krewella vocal) are all my voice. So the process of the sound design was a bit longer than usual. There's another big room drop with a progressive feel to it. I also recorded myself clapping, and doing a couple other loops you'll hear in the full track. 

Now the ending was what i was excited to do. 
I've always loved reggae, and ive been wanting to add it to some of my tracks.
So i picked up my guitar, put together some drum samples i recorded, added some more of my vocals recorded on my iphone, whipped up a vintage sounding organ, brought in the melody i used for the progressive drop with a lead that was also created with my voice, and tried to make the whole piece sound like an actual reggae band. The trick was blending it all smoothly and come together so it works. So i hope you guys dig it!

also, the reggae doesn't come in that soon, there's a full minute outro before that comes in, this was just an edit i did for preview.

Dutch DJ & Producer duo, Bassjackers, are set to drop their newest club-banging hit record “LIKE THAT” on August 18th on Belgian legends Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s SMASH THE HOUSE imprint. 

During last month’s hugely successful Tomorrowland festivals, it seemed like there was one new track that was getting everyone buzzing. Receiving main stage play on both weekends from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Hardwell, Nicky Romero & Martin Garrix, to name a few “Like That” quickly became an internet hype and topped the 1001 Tracklist “most heard” list from the festival. The track, today officially premiered via the below soundcloud link, features a signature high energy Bassjackers drop that is best suited for exactly that stage 

2014 was already a huge highlight reel for Marlon Flohr & Ralph van Hilst - collectively known as Bassjackers. It started out with the monstrous track “Crackin’ “ (Martin Garrix edit) which topped all the club play charts for much of January & February and is still played by many major name artists. This was soon followed by a collab with LA based DJ MAKJ and the track “DERP” which went on to chart officially in the US Billbaord Dance top 20. The summer also saw a collab release on Revealed with up coming DJ Kenneth G, “RAMPAGE” which was first debuted during Hardwell’s closing set @ Ultra 2014.
