Chasner & Remco along with Mars by Midnight and Kid Noize come together to work their remix wizardry of Belgian electro pop stars MAORI and Manuals 2020 hit ‘Did It For You’, storming in on Generation Smash with an updated invigoration.

Providing each remix with their own separate identities, Kid Noize swoops in with a slice of atmospheric house, leaning towards the sunshine-soaked sound of the Summer, muted pads and shine-through-the-speaker synths taking things deeper, whilst the Mars by Midnight remix is a dark, tech-heavy, future banger. 

Certain to be played deep into the night, taking the vulnerability of the original and armouring it up with a bubbling underground feel, almost bordering on the progressive, it’s an epic take that accumulates in a drop that will shake your fillings loose, as the Chasner and Remco’s remix remains closer to the electro-pop vibe of the original, it still allows their remix enough breathing space to create its own unique take, reimagining the emotive chorus, as a more synth-heavy vocal pushes the remix into pure party territory.

Danimal has been getting quite a reputation with his recent output on Generation Smash, and he provides new heat with his latest offering ‘Lionheart’. ‘Lionheart’ follows on from previous successes on the label, including ‘Wait For You’ with Robinz and ‘The Lights’ with Tony Junior, as Generation Smash appear to have unearthed another gem who is set for big things. 

Intricate melodies run simultaneously in the breakdown, displaying a medieval swagger which strips back to reveal a stomping bassline that is guaranteed to send fans into a frenzy. The whistle melody perseveres throughout, to give ‘Lionheart’ a sense of cohesion and ties together the release nicely.

Danimal has certainly made all the right noises since dropping his first release at the end of last year, and appears to have found a perfect home in Generation Smash, the ideal place for him to flourish in the early stages in his career. With support on his releases already from the likes of label bosses Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Sophie Francis and Wolfpack, it’s clear to see that this is only the beginning of the journey for Danimal. Dutch DJ Jimmy Clash has been permeating the scene with a presence felt by many in recent years. From stand-out sets at ADE, to releases including ‘Sound The Alarm’ with Wolfpack and Richie Loop on Smash The House that received support from Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, as well as Dada Life and Futuristic Polar Bears, he now brings the force on ‘Troublemaker’ with Da Knightshiftah in tow.

Commencing with industrial, aggravated synths that add bite instantly, Da Knightshiftah’s MC spits dial the attitude up to 11, lines of “I run the street like a real big spenda/ When we’re all done, don’t surrender” propelling the gravitas even further. As the abrasive apex comes to its climax, it’s devastating, gritty big-room house that will overtake your psyche long after its first listen as two worlds collide for this late-Summer smash.
