Daniel and Peer have been close friends since their time in school. Together they shared a deep excitement about the early techno years, that they already expe-rienced in their (pre-)teen times - it was also together, that they did their first experiments with synths, samplers and sequencers.

Both have been working in the music industry for years - first as DJ, later through his compilations for PIAS Rec., EDM Rec. and Cuepoint Rec., Daniel has made himself a Name in the german trance and club scene, while Peer being an AV-media clerk has worked with numerous established artists and labels from both the underground, as well as the mainstream music business.

Both being passionate music lovers - each dwelving in his own realm of sound - finally getting back together to fulfill their collective musical visons under the moniker Smith &amp; Burns.

ATANAS is a Bulgarian-born DJ and producer rooted in tech house and minimal, known for hypnotic grooves and stripped-back rhythms crafted for late-night dance floors. Raised in Plovdiv and musically shaped in Washington, D.C., his early sets earned a reputation for deep, focused storytelling behind the decks.
In 2012, ATANAS made his production debut alongside DJ Lion with a remix of “It’s Like That” by Zenbi & Cyberx, released on Oscar L’s Shinshy Records. The track reached #13 on Traxsource and gained support from major names like Mark Knight, Paco Osuna, Oscar L, and Siwell.
After stepping away in 2013 to focus on fatherhood, ATANAS returned in 2025—Toolroom Academy certified and creatively re-energized. During his comeback, he connected with legendary sound engineer Pete Gleadall (Madonna, Bowie, Carl Cox), who genuinely liked a track ATANAS was crafting during the course and agreed to mix and master it himself.
June 2025 saw the launch of his own imprint, No Plan B Records, with the release of "The DJ List". The momentum continued into July with "Let's Do This" dropping on Saman Records, and his latest track "Mamasita" is currently available for pre-order on Beatport, slated for release in October 2025. Currently showcasing the power of music to his own children, literally living a dream in LONDON UK!
