Solid Steel (17th January) This week it's the turn of Kid Koala to showcase his turntable skills. At the other end of the spectrum to DJ Kentaro last week, Kid Koala has a unique style and we get to hear it with this set recorded 'Live in Victoria on Three Rental Turntables'. You'll recognise some of his classic routines alongside tracks from his albums on Ninja Tune. He has been recently touring the world with Deltron 3030 and ever since his incredible set at the legendary Stealth night in the 90's, every show is well worth watching.

The self styled ‘Mixtape Champion of the World’, Chris Read joins forces with MPM Recording Artist and 2 time ITF Champion Marc Hype to present what they’re humbly calling ‘The World’s Greatest Christmas Mixtape’; 

These two seasoned DJs and record collectors have produced two mixes which take in everything that Christmas music has to offer, from Funk, Soul, Jazz and Hip Hop to Children’s records, Reggae and Latin with a handful of better known Christmas classics thrown in for good measure. 

All intended to be taken in good humour and a dose of Christmas cheer, ‘The World’s Greatest Christmas Mixtape’ is the alternative soundtrack to Christmas. 

Chris Read is currently working on a new live / studio project anticipated for release in 2010. Marc Hype and Jim Dunloop’s Album ‘Stamp Out Reality’ on MPM records is in stores now. Both Chris Read and Marc Hype will tour extensively in 2010.

For Volume 121 of the series, we are proud to present a true legend of the San Francisco/Bay Area underground house scene.

Swingkidd started his journey into DJ’ing in 1992, when the Northern California Rave scene was birthed. When the raves started getting busted, the events moved into the night (and day) clubs in San Francisco where Swingkidd was fortunate to play & hold residencies.

Swinkidd continues his House Music journey currently playing local events such as Strut, In & out at The EndUp, Broke Buddha, Rhythm Method, Elements of House, Feel it! And Wish Bar to name a few. He provides his own monthly event at Mars Bar call “Danceflō “.

Currently Swingkidd has a show called “STOPWARS!dance on both HOUSEHEADSRADIO.com & sugarshackradio.com, and has been busy DJing both in and around the Bay Area as well as travelling to his "2nd Home", Berlin Germany earlier this summer to play various events. 

As you can see, Swingkidd is a veteran in the scene and we are stoked to welcome him to SRS!!
