David Dunn, is a DJ and Director of events company 'The Beat Boutique'. Originating from Middlesbrough in the north east of England, massively influenced by music growing up from Motown to Reggae and being a young impressionable boy when Hip Hop and House music was created he has been immersed from the beginning of both genres. Dj'ing out since 1996, his love of soulful/funky U.S House inspired mostly by legends such as Masters at Work, Derrick Carter, Dimitri From Paris, Joey Negro and David Morales and vocalists such as India, Jocelyn Brown, Ann Nesby and Barbara Tucker are what inspired him to purchase his first set of turntables at the tender age of 13. Being a huge lover of Soul/Motown growing up, Hip Hop was obviously going to be his other passion. Early pioneers such as Rakim, Run DMC, A Tribe Called Quest followed by artists like Gangstarr, Notorious B.I.G and Wu-Tang made their way into his favourites list. He has been a presence for over 20 years on the north east bar/club scene as well as holding international residencies for worldwide brands such as Hed Kandi and Miss Moneypennies in Ibiza, Ayia Napa and mainland Spain. In November 2016 David started an events company 'The Beat Boutique'. The brand snowballed in its first year with bookings for everything from sport and fashion events to festivals, weddings and business exhibitions throughout the UK. His sets will tend to include everything from  soul/funk, hip hop/rnb to all things house, from soulful and uplifting, right through to the tougher deep sound often with a retro twist.
