Born and raised in New York to Jamaican parents, Harrison is a naturally gifted singer and songwriter. She entered New York City’s fiercely competitive open mic circuit at the age of 13 and has continued gracing audiences around the world. As an artist, Tara has opened stages for Damian Marley, Cee Lo, Nas and Ms. Lauryn Hill. She spent a decade touring as a background vocalist to Ms. Lauryn Hill from 2012-2022, performing across nearly 50 countries.  A multi-faceted ear in songwriting has paired Tara with many diverse producers such as Deputy, J. Cole, Don Corleon, and Nate Duvall, to name a few.

Musical influences include:  Janet Jackson, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Bob Marley, Aaliyah, Tanya Stephens, Teena Marie....
