Second Storey is the artistic vessel of Alec Storey, a Berlin-based producer whose roots trace back to Norfolk’s free-party scene — the same fertile ground that gave rise to Bloc Weekender. Emerging first as Al Tourettes with early releases on [k]rack-troni[k], he went on to record for Apple Pips, Sneaker Social Club, Aus Music, and Schmorgasbord, while building a formidable creative partnership with Appleblim. Together, the duo remixed Planetary Assault Systems, Axel Boman, Underworld, and Raudive, before launching the ALSO project. Their live debut at Space Ibiza set the tone for a string of European performances and culminated in a full-length album on R&S Records.

Second Storey’s solo trajectory is no less ambitious. Commissioned for the soundtrack to Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan, he later inaugurated his Second Storey alias with the Houndstooth-released debut album Double Divide. Preceding EPs on Nervous Horizon and Austria’s Trust laid the groundwork for his second LP, Lucid Locations, a cerebral distillation of his electro-techno-funk aesthetic. The subsequent remix collection, Lucid Interpretations, featured contributions from Nastia, Radioactive Man, The Exaltics, Machine Woman, and 214. His catalog has since expanded with releases on Clone’s Frustrated Funk, Varvet, Natural Selection, Pudel Produkt, Mechatronica, and most recently, No Static Automatic.

Stylistically, Second Storey’s compass is guided by funk’s psychedelic backbone, channeled through electro, techno, IDM, UK bass, and other rhythmic mutations. Whether collaborating, remixing, or commanding the stage with live drum pad intensity, his output remains singular: elastic, unpredictable, and bursting with energy.

Beginning her creative journey in her formative years with classical music and dance training, Sophia Saze later became engulfed by electronic dance music. Getting to know this artist, it is easy to understand that she comes from a solid and natural musical foundation. Tbilisi, Georgia born and internationally bred, she’s now based in Brooklyn, New York. Saze launched her record label Dusk & Haze in 2017, with the first installment coming in the form of her own ‘Solace’ LP [D&H001], which included remixes from Benjamin Damage & Umwelt. 

The productions stem from techno, yet her musical versatility draws from a variety of genre influences, ranging from electro to krautrock, ambient to industrial, and acid to garage - showing her complete range and fluidity as a musician. She has a full release schedule lined up for this year, including her debut album on Kingdoms, and various singles, whilst displaying her innate ability as A&R as she welcomes new releases on her imprint D&H. 2019 will also see the premiere of her live A/V.

TOAST3R’s journey as a selector began in Madrid's underground free party scene, where he immersed himself playing drum and bass. A passionate vinyl collector, his style evolved very influenced by a year in Bristol during his university days.

He embraced the essence of breakbeat-hardcore, the intricate textures of IDM, the futuristic grooves of electro, and the driving rhythms of uk techno, bass and breaks, all while maintaining a deep connection to melody and emotion. His sets became a mental journey, weaving together raw energy with soulful, introspective moments, creating a sound that is both cerebral and deeply felt.

Today, he continues to push boundaries, producing new music in T37 studio, where he channels his passion for experimentation and storytelling.
