We are so thrilled to finally share this delicious mix recorded by the French/Polish DJ and producer ~ ina kacz. We met Ina last year in London during her visit and have immediately bonded over a few shared musical experiences, keeping in touch since. It feels so right to finally welcome her to the Introspective Electronics family. She recorded just over an hour of seamlessly flowing ambient textures weaved together with various shades of rhythm-driven experimental dance sounds for us  🤍

Ina’s music taste is refreshingly eclectic, yet she manages to keep her signature sound ~ combining deep atmospheres, breaks, tribalism and groove ~ well defined. A household name on her local Berlin scene, with DJ sets at Berghain and Tresor under her belt, Ina also tours around the globe, notably in Georgia, France, Portugal, or Colombia among other places. In 2022, she has released her first track ‘Sequoia’ as part of a compilation on the Colombian imprint ‘From A Lost Place’ 💫

This mix is the perfect example of challenging the frontiers between music for listening and dancing. Starting off patiently with droney ambient and glitchy downtempo, the mix picks up pace around its middle section to dive into heady, futuristic drum’n’bass weightlessness wrapped in soft, warm & fuzzy blankets of lush atmospherics. This one will take you places, we promise. Travel safe, friends!

Nada nos gusta más en esta estación de radio que diseccionar para gozo y disfrute la carrera de algún humano que tenga los mimbres suficientes para ello. Si este artista además de hacer musicón es poco conocido más nos arremangamos, como es el caso. Es un EM donde cogemos la retroescavadora y profundizamos en uno de los estratos más bajos del underground.

Hablamos de Bryn Jones, aka Muslimgauze, un prolífico productor que entre los años 81 y 99 dejó su impronta musical en incontables grabaciones generando su propio sonido cuando las corrientes que le rodeaban fluían en otras direcciones. Llegaba a este casi sin apoyarse en la tecnología que sustenta la electrónica y sin embargo recorría todos los palos de esta con una calidad y originalidad pasmosa. De verdad que es una selección musical de disfrutar, transitó a tránsito no deja de sorprender y de sumar ideas y elementos a su obra, te lo vas a gozar. 

Estamos hablando de un pollo que tiene 9 páginas de discogs de referencias, y que cada una de ellas está dirigida a la misma temática; los conflictos bélico-sociales del mundo árabe, causa que hizo suya y que le sirvió de inspiración y de estética para su música. Ya que estamos, y como a él le hubiese gustado, resumimos para que tu tiempo esté 200% bien invertido algunas de las efemérides geo-políticas que dan nombre a sus álbumes y tracks.

Bryn jamás viajo a Oriente Medio/próximo ni se le conocen conexiones con esta parte de nuestro planeta. Su figura está llena de leyenda, ya que murió en extrañas circunstancias cuando estaba en su mejor momento musical. Un genio desconocido para la mayoría del versado público que baila donde tu bailas y que escucha los sellos que tu escuchas; incluso es posible que tú no tengas mucha idea sobre él. Dale al play y prepárate para un documental en formato audio donde sumergirte en el verbo más necesario de todos, el verbo descubrir.

This mix is a beautifully woven narrative for cold nights and deep introspection…

“My hometown, where I was born and raised, is Matsumoto City in Nagano Prefecture, Japan. The city is rich in nature, with a view of the Japanese Alps mountain range.

It is a cold area, and when I was a child, it was not unusual to have heavy snowfalls. At night, when there is a lot of snow as far as the eye can see, it is quiet. The snow reflects the moonlight, and the sky becomes bluish and faintly bright.

The big tree that I could see from my room, which was usually swaying in the wind, was covered with snow and quiet on such a day.

It was a very lyrical scene, even to my childish mind, and I felt a sense of awe and fear mixed with affection, which made me wonder. But I felt somewhat lonely, and I didn’t want the morning to come. I was more inclined to bury myself in the silence forever.

I put the original landscape of my heart into this mix. Please enjoy.” - Loe

~~ About Loe ~~

Loe was born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, and is the grandniece of avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama. She started her career as a techno DJ in the Kansai region in 2005, and after appearing at DOMMUNE supporting techno heavyweight Reeko's first solo gig in Osaka, she expanded her activities to the whole of Japan. She organises an ambient event known as "SLOWMOTION", in collaboration with AOKI takamasa and Endurance. Her storytelling development and layering techniques are her specialities, and her play style, which maximises the trippy immersive feeling that is the real appeal of techno music, has gained enthusiastic support from the scene.

You look around and realize: Oh, is this it? Is this what I’ve been waiting for? The pieces are in place, but perhaps you’re not.

Andreas, who has been present since our very first party, is responsible for mix number 25 on Discos Movimiento. Titled "When Things Fall Into Place," the mix reflects his tendency to delve into electronic music's mental and sensory depths. Andreas creates a vortex where genres like ambient, deep psy, deep techno, psychedelia, trance, IDM, and bass converge. Through melancholic, textured, and hypnotic sounds, he captures the essence of the title: a harmony that emerges when everything falls into place. Inspired by the mystical landscapes of his native Scandinavia, the mix offers an immersive, meditative, and reflective experience that transports the listener to a space where the abstract and the tangible meet.

From his home in the rainforests of Vancouver Island, Canada, @silent-season label head Jamie McCue brings us a mix infused with warm, ethereal textures, spacious dub elements, and insistent rhythms.

Jamie founded Silent Season after moving to the remote woodlands of British Columbia in the mid-2000s. Deeply influenced by the colours, scents and ambience of the environment around him, Jamie’s tastes are reflected in Silent Season’s releases, which include titles from @refracted-music, @yuka, @archivistseattle, @emanuelepertoldi (Shaded Explorer) and @edanticonf.

The context for this recording was sunrise at Organik festival 2017. Following directly after Steve Bicknell’s powerful and driving techno, my responsibility was to transition the party into a period of rest and recovery. Playing to an open-minded crowd in a beautiful setting allowed me to explore different moods and deliver a set that conveyed what I wanted it to. I think the recording does a good job of capturing that moment, and now feels like the right time to share it more widely. Thanks to the Smoke Machine crew for having me. – Chris SSG
