Toolroom’s very own Mark Knight continues his impressive string of collaborations here as Darius Syrossian appears alongside him for the first time on the label, and it’s safe to say we are very excited about this one! Darius is a long-standing respected figure on the underground house circuit, with a career spanning 2 decades, 2 Grammy nominations, Ibiza residencies galore and an army of ‘Moxy’ faithful’s that follow him to every club and festival he plays at.

Mark and Darius, along with studio maestro James Hurr, stumbled on this classic ‘Lets All Chant’ sample and together proceeded to write a peak-time, tech house slammer around it. Expect relentless energy here, lush vocal licks and that familiar 90’s sample – Definitely one to keep those dance floors rocking as we head towards the summer months!

@da-iguana is a beat-loving bearded reptile mixing roots, genres and styles from 60 to 140 BPM with open-mindness & passion.

This track started with a loud arpeggio, trance-like feeling, but I got bored of it at some point, so I kept the arpeggio aside, changed the bass line and added some cumbia punch to it. I imagined and sound designed the intro as if you were standing or seating at your porch in the countryside, by a warm summer night, full of sound. And there you hear the dogs of the neighboring farm barking loud at something. You feel something is gonna happen, you hear footsteps... And then boom, you meet Cumbia. Not the original Cumbia sound, but a sneaky-bassy power Cumbia, infused with trance and oriental sounds... La Cumbia ne préviens pas!

Cosmovision Records presents ¨Elements of These Lands¨

We started as a group of music producers in Montréal, immigrants from Latin America, Europe and friends from Canada, we wanted to reinterpret the elements of this land, from North America such as: nature, native cultures, artistic forms and others. This woke a great interest from artists from all over the world, thing that finally lead to our compilation ¨Element of These Lands¨, in plural, adding a big tribe of friends from all over the world which today are part of our artistic essence, a multi cultural collective.

Our proposal is to make music that evokes respect and consciousness about nature, which understand our cultural differences as a great value for us. We look to go beyond the act of pushing buttons to create digital music, on the other side, we want to inspire ourselves as a collective and invite to reflect about the elements of our land, elements that sometimes western culture forgets, but through art we can analyze, reinterpret and value.

Our first compilation has cultural influences from: Canada, Mexico, France, Chile, Turkey, Belgium, Colombia, Lebanon, Switzerland, Italy and Argentina. 
We want to thank all the producers evolved in this compilation and our artist Mathieu Bories, visual genius of our collective; also everyone who have believed in us and never forgetting you, the people who download and share these voices which are echoes from the land itself, that through artists sing to us to generate awareness of our roots and the elements of our land.

Da Iguana - Cuando Andas Por La Noche Y La Cumbia Te Rompe La Cara

The POAN Collaborations EP is a journey into musical kinship. It is a project spawned from the idea that we can create so much more potent art when we come together and combine our strengths to create something that we could never create on our own. These collaborations were birthed out of the musical genius of Lorenzo Mantovani of the ambient instrumental project POAN (his project with Giacomo Barbari). Lorenzo put together seven different loop packs using his wide range of instruments which were then passed on to these producers to create something totally new out of the recordings. Each track takes on a whole new life of it’s own with the unique beat driven approach of each individual producer. The collaborations range from high energy dance tracks to deep hypnotic introspective journeys with everything in between. May this collaborative effort be a testament to the potency of coming together as a collective musical family.
