The latest edition of our free download series welcomes Emi Galvan for his first appearance. Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have been applauded for their impeccable track selection and exquisite programming. As one of Argentina’s most in demand DJs, Emi has travelled the world, delighting crowds in Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and more. A recent highlight in the Argentine’s sets has been his unofficial remix of Massive Attack’s ‘Girl I Love You.’ Released in 2010 as part of the band’s ‘Heligoland’ album, the song would go on to become one of the LP’s most recognizable tracks, racking up more than ten million plays on Spotify in the process. Emi’s version has seen considerable live play in recent months, with Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger and more all airing the remix across their sets. One of the most exciting newcomer acts to emerge from Israel’s flourishing house scene over the past couple of years, Komashov has been breezing through career milestones at impressive speed since launching his discography in 2022. Gracing some of the most influential labels on the circuit including Abracadabra and Monaberry, the home-grown Tel Aviv talent now marks his debut release for Miami-based label and events brand Hurry Up Slowly with his majestic, three-track ‘Wama’ EP.

Rife with organic and world music sensibilities, Komashov’s fresh extended player straddles the club and at-home listening spaces with ease. Opening with its title track ‘Wama’, Komashov elicits pure danceability with a masterfully blended arrangement of softly driven percussion and emphatic synth hits. Woven between his alluring melodic riffs and ethnic-leaning vocal line are an impeccable array of synth intricacies, which pay homage to the organic sentiments we’ve come to know and love from his output. 

‘Podiya’ plays next; an intoxicating slice of Afro-house that puts his productions talents front and centre. Offsetting his world music elements against classic piano chord progressions, Komashov finds the sweet spot between a multitude of genres, landing on a sound that is veritably his own. 

Last but by no means least, the EP’s third and final offering takes the form of ‘Maka’. Presenting us with another heady listening experience, Komashov breeds rhythmic gold for his closing cut as he journeys through anthemic apex moments and stripped-back breaks with refined subtlety.

A staple on the likes of Monaberry and Abracadabra, Komashov’s ‘Wama’ EP follows his globally-acclaimed single ‘Mayoko’ in November of 2023 and marks the first in a series of releases set for the coming months. An established name on the club and festival circuit, Komashov has shared the stage with some of dance music’s biggest names, including Marco Carola, Guy Gerber, Blond:ish, Damian Lazarus and Jan Blomqvist to name a few. With a truly original sound profile that transcends the notion of genres, he is quickly becoming one of the most exciting artists to follow on the melodic house circuit across Europe, the Middle East and beyond.

Hugely influential electronic innovator Sasha has been at the heart of the underground almost since it began. He has done it all, from legendary residencies and seminal mix CDs to GRAMMY Award-nominated productions, but never stops pushing forward either with his dexterous and high-tech DJ sets or innovative productions. He had a big 2023 that featured a collaboration with Because of Art and a new single, 'Works Vagon,' and now backs that up once more with this latest outing.

The superb 'Fleuron Drift' is a typically epic sonic journey with meticulous synth craft that is ever-evolving. Lead lines dance, and background chords add soul as the hypnotic drums lead towards a spell-binding and signature breakdown that will get hands in the air before the chords swirl and circle around the groove like birds on a warm vector.

London-based Theo Kottis has established himself as one of the UK's most versatile DJs and producers on labels like Dekmantel and Permanent Vacation. His superb remix brings more energy and snappier, tech-leaning drums with glitchy synth textures, making it more suited to sweatier dance floor moments.

Kassian is a London production duo who have released on cult labels like Heist and Phonica. Their version is quicker, with clipped drums bringing the funk under molten chords and rising synth tension that is designed to lift crowds off their feet and into another realm of electronic pleasure.

Clubsonica Records opens the spring season with a collaborative single from Golan Zocher and Juan Pablo Torrez. Born in Colombia but now calling Israel home, Golan Zocher has firmly etched his place in progressive house lore. Following a 2016 debut, the Tel Aviv resident quickly found his place amongst the genre's elite, earning play and support from Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy J and Guy Mantzur. Releases via Mango Alley, Or Two Strangers, Plattenbank and Proton highlight what has been an eight-year creative swell for this elusive talent. Clubsonica has also been a regular landing spot for Golan, with four originals and two remixes recorded since making his label debut in 2017. Meanwhile, Colombian artist and Clubsonica label boss Juan Pablo Torrez has also compiled an impressive resume since first emerging in 2007. Mango Alley, Plattenbank, The Soundgarden, UV and more have served as landing spots for his progressive creations, while world class DJs Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren have been steadfast supporters along the way. Also highly regarded as a DJ, Juan remains one of Colombia's premiere talents, sharing the stage with Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Sasha, Matador, and more. Although both Golan and Juan have built a good portion of their discographies on successful collaborations, the duo have yet to work together. It seems only appropriate that Clubsonica be the home for the duo's first ever joint production entitled 'Cosmic Resonance', alongside a remix from Mike Griego. Golan and Juan explore emotive progressive house sensibilities on their first joint production 'Cosmic Resonance'. Sleek and energetic throughout, it's a framework of punchy kick drums and undulating basslines which lay the foundation for rolling percussion and emerging atmospheres to unite, in turn creating a strong sense of flow. Hypnotizing arps and tension-inducing overlays take centrestage across the first act, with haunting atmospheres fully initializing the main break. Cosmic and emotive in equal measure, the interlude further solidifies the duo's dancefloor vision, melting down to a quiet calm where ghostly vocals and cinematic swells cleverly-coax, before the groove re-engages for a poignant finale of heartfelt chord changes and a haze of processed vocals.
