A cover of the song "Dominoes" by Syd Barrett, who was the lead singer and songwriter for early Pink Floyd. He had already lost his mind and been fired from the band when he wrote this. The original song has crazy timing issues - it is the work of a guy with schizophrenia. I learned the song from David Gilmour's version that he plays live. I like the vibe and the somewhat strange chord progression. The vocal melody sits very comfortably in these changes. In this version, I played acoustic guitar and then overdubbed upright bass. Killer drummer WT on drums.

Sunrise diffused with sunset during arctic darkness period and reindeer appearance at the horizon brought sense of hope in return of bright days ahead. This feeling inspired main chord progression sentence that you can hear at the beginning and throughout whole piece. 

Guitar sample, positive bright and hopeful - borrowed and cut from Imagine Dragons. 

Modified vocals samples from splice gave me the fitting vibe of scandinavian reverse choirs you can find in brilliance of Sigur Ros... 

and then.... Gilmours happened! 

My dear friend sent me "David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Between Two Points" and oh my god... how beautiful and hypnotic the harp is and lyrics are.. 

i needed to try and implement those into the track and symbiosis of vocal melody with chords in very uncertain way made me keep it and experiment with faster beat - doubled bpm from 90 to 180 in easy liquid drum and bass lore. 

Unfortunatelly Ive only had 2 days to cook something up for a classes so it is not mixed enough, but its a start...

Gilmour Echo ver2 final1 - David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Between Two Points (Liquid DnB remix)

I tried the Pink Floyd classic "Comfortably Numb" for the first time. WT joined me on drums. First attempt for both of us. I sure wish I could handle the Gilmour electric guitar solo, but it's beyond my pay grade. I'm hoping to find a friend who can overdub it.

A transcontinental collaboration. MK and Avi in LA set up an recorded the basic track. Two guitars and vocals. I overdubbed bass and another electric guitar and the added production. WT overdubbed killer drums. Then Avi added B3 organ and a Gilmour style guitar.  Fun collaboration.
