StachMou is one of WAM’s co-founders, he has been involved in Saigon’s nightlife for 2 years. He took his passion for high quality drinks, food and atmosphere and applied it to music, managing WAM’s musical direction, first working with infamous Teruu, and later on with the weird and wonderful Smudge.

WAM is an intimate space with some of the best audiophile equipment, you can hear all the details in the music, allowing DJs to play the music they love without boundaries. 

WAM’s loyal patrons are always looking for fresh vibes and new musical discoveries, allowing free and creative bookings and parties and artistic concepts.

StachMou, naturally became one of WAM’s residents after joining the Hazy Lemons crew, with their left-field and downtempo Sunday parties. He loves and lives to dig, but is rather shy when it comes to playing, he generally prefers to stay behind the scene. Now he has decided to record his first mix as a tribute to his last trip with his childhood friends

This is my second Supreme Rallentato mix - the technique of playing records cut at 45rpm, at the wrong speed, 33rpm. I call it Chug Funk.

It’s slow, sexy, slinky music for the hips and groin - perfect for rubbing bodies against each other.

Technical :

Recorded with a pair of Techincs SL1210 MK2s with Ortofon Concorde DJ cartridges and a Denon MCX8000 mixer. The only post production was some limiting and EQ.

Chug Funk Volume 2 : Slow Rave / Supreme Rallentato / Wrong Speed / 45s @33

I've been struggling to record a proper mix for a while... every time I sit down and start, I can't decide which direction to go..  so much of what I decide to play is directed by the setting and the crowd. So mostly I've just stuck to dropping some left-field goodness on the Radio and playing live. But recently I went over to Manchester to see Mr Scruff and Luke Una for a Sunday day party at Band on The Wall... and it hit me... I should record an E-Soul mix.

So armed with this newly found inspiration I locked up in my room for 3 days and pictured myself playing at Magic Hour on a hot and sticky summer eve at some festival or other. Starting dreamy, a few push and pulls, till the sunsets and going for a deeper attack.... then dropping down for a mellow finish.
