Born in Scotland 1987, Defenin moved to England in his early years before pursuing a career in music at the age of 16. Even though Defenin is big fan of all genres and styles he has only been writing and spitting bars since the age of 13.

Defenin’s musical tastes has matured over the years from the hip hop Def Jam era in the early ninety’s and that old school vibe from artists such as Slick Rick. He also has much love for the UK side of music alongside the thriving Indie scene.

For nearly 20 years PHD has held a number of residencies in clubs and bars in London such has APT, Agenda, the Priory and Heaven to name a few.
She is truly a master-musician in her approach and regularly plays House, Garage, R'n'B, Hip-Hop, Soul and Drum and Bass.
Her eclectic music taste and style of DJing ensures the dance floor is filled and the revelers are happy.

PHD has played to a host of celebrity crowds including Dame Kelly Holmes, Katie Melua, Dane Bowers and the cast of Casualty.
She recently took place in the 2021 Mix Masters DJ Competition and came 2nd out of 2000+ DJs.
