The stars of the present teamed with timeless innovators like Phonte (Little Brother), Blockhead, Ras Kass, Gift of Gab (Blackalicious), Oh No, Masta Ace, and Bilal Salaam. If most compilations are nothing more than a loosely thrown together collection of songs, Persona boasts meticulous focus. These aren’t spare tracks, they’re potent messages and poisonous darts. “Requiem” finds Phonte and Oddisee indicting American racism and Xenophobia with fury and precision. On “Homicide,” yU and Nottz leave blood dripping all over the canvas. There’s “Celebrity Reduction Prayer,” where Open Mike Eagle lampoons fundamentalists and religious zealots over Oddisee’s warm Stevie Wonder keyboards.
 
But there’s ultimately no need to do the track-by-track breakdown. This is an anthology in the most traditional well-curated sense. Christmaz is a 24 year old Emcee from Stockholm, Sweden. He now is in preparation for the release of his Debut Album. Traveling to Berlin in 2015 for a show connected Christmaz with Beat maker Figub Brazlevic. Before and after the show they both shared ideas on future  collaborations, discussed the direction of  where they both would like to be in the near future. Having both similar goals with their visions, this was the point they joined forces.

Woven with religious commentary ("And they feel it praising his name, cause you're either in image praying or saved, or a sinner bathing in flames"), nostalgic glimpses of hip-hop being a soundtrack of youth ("I remember the cyphers and park benches, light-skin and dark bitches, and shooting dice and they start spitting, seen your bars written!") and being cognizant of a timetable that is very much happening ("...Time comes quick as it goes, but if you're waiting for this to happen, you're missing the show...) the narration is provided through watchful eyes and cautious understanding of how frivolous young life can be.
