For the third episode of the Mute Frequency Podcast, I had the pleasure of catching up with AeronXTC aka Shawn Darcy. A staple as a DJ in the underground techno scene he has been running shows in Dublin for over a decade. AeronXTC is a co-owner of both Fuinneamh and Index as well as being a District 8 Resident and the boss behind Research Label. He has just recently begun his Music production journey, his tracks already receiving support from some of the biggest names in the industry. 


I really enjoyed this conversation and listening to the six great tracks he brought with him & the stories behind them.

Haiko Nahm’s uplifting Eos is a positively charged euphoric roller that stands in stark contrast to the dark and hypnotic stomping of L\\S’s Kngbtdgsf. The b-side kicks off with the ravy trance-like sound of Valura’s Cool Cassis, and it's all topped off with Lifka’s next-level acid bomb 1353.

@lukr-range is a Berlin-based DJ and producer. She grew up and developed in the Berlin nightlife scene and started to perform as a DJ in clubs such as :// about blank, Arena and Suicide Circus in 2017, dominating the floors with raw and aggressive techno beats. Her sets are always energetic and characterised by fast drums, punching kicks, metallic snares and jumping bass lines, creating a fluent, dark, hypnotic and deep journey through music. Besides DJ-ing she is also known for the work with @sonderberlin colective, her very own productions and the residency at the @eclectiqueberlin events. The mix that Lukr Range has recorded for us is way different than her usual style so check it out!

The launch of Tar Electronics Series comes with the re-issue of Audiomatik. A true gem by Neuro-D, first released as an LP in 2002 on the experimental label Poeta Negra. Eleven minimalistic electro bombs, remastered and pressed on double vinyl, club ready and highly addictive. Hab von dieser Funktion gehört, aber weiß bis heute nicht wo ich sie finde. 

3. Was sagen deine Eltern zum Auflegen um 6 Uhr morgens? 
Schon lange nichts mehr 

4. Hast Du auch schon das Phänomen erlebt, Alkohol während deines Sets einfach nicht zu spüren? 
Voll, leicht schwankend legt es sich aber auch einfach angenehmer auf. 

5. Wie sortierst Du deine Plattensammlung? 
Grob nach Genres, lasse ich aber auch gerne schleifen und liebe es dann auf eine Platte zu stoßen, die ich gefühlt schon wieder vergessen hatte. 

6. Wäre die Musik, die Du spielst, eine Frisur, welche hättest Du dann? 
Momentan Drei Wetter Taft Stufe 5 Igel.
