Italy's Kid Mark follows up his much revered releases on Swink & Deso Records by delivering an ep that demonstrates his qualities of producer of that ‘pure’ house music sound.
  Opening with 'All Of Me' we are given a taste of things to come with luscious sweeping pads and a vocal hook that rolls in tandem with the bass line creating an infectious groove.  
  
James Johnston is the man behind the remix taking 'All Of Me' in a direction that has cemented his reputation as a master remixer. He compliments the original sound with cleverly layered pads and pianos intertwining the vocal hook creating a sublime orchestra effect.  
  
The B-side opening track takes us in a completely different direction with '909 bullets'. Driven along with an off-beat acid stab and a triple hit chord loop, Kid Mark shows he is more than capable of creating a sound for much darker dance floors. 
   
The final track 'House Is Da Way' displays yet another string to Kid Marks' bow. Drawing influence from last years re-emergence of the 90's sound he cleverly crafts a main room monster using a mixture of classic drum fills and classic vocal snips.

Chris Geldard - Happy Daze (Original Mix) [2018, PHRLGH001]

As we edge ever so close to 200 releases on Pogo House Records, Dr. Shemp drops ‘The Lost Trax Vol 1’ for PHR198 and brings a stacked 3 track EP.
Dr. Shemp delivers ‘Untitled 3’ that has hints of inspiration from RIP productions. Soulfully pleasing pads alongside crunchy percussion and a deep mesmerising bassline give off a nostalgic feel on this lovely garage joint.

‘No Matter What’ on the flipside has that old skool NYC House vibe nailed. Sassy vocal samples pinned down by a dubby bassline groove, accompanied by swinging percussion, all shrouded by dreamy pads that encapsulates the vintage sound of the 90’s down to a tee.

‘It does what it says on the tin’ is the old saying and ‘Lift Me Up’ certainly puts the proof in the pudding here. Dr Shemp serves up a lively number for the third track consisting of US Garage style kickdrums and intense electric piano keys. Straddle all this with uplifting vocals that really whip up a storm and raise the energy levels through the roof on this jam.

Tuesday Brunch - Not Gonna

I always get an adrenaline rush when I see a demo from one of my favorites, Roland Nights. When I heard this new collaboration with Dubai artist Man Go Funk I knew it was going straight onto Large. The trumpet runs on both mixes? Those aren't samples but actual live riffs from Man Go Funk himself. Two mixes to choose from here: Roland's club friendly Main Mix and the Jazz Mix for a full brass workout. Hard to pick a favorite!
