Supercardioid (i.e. Supah C) lives and dies by the needle - or stylus that is. He is a deejay's DJ. A purist at heart with a vinyl collection that spans a lifetime for some. Supercardioid pulls out breaks from the funk era that Dre sampled for N.W.A., 80’s B-sides, house grooves for the 4 on the floor massive and a variety of Drum’n’Bass to bring out the stepper in you. A mix session with Supercardioid is more like a history lesson from a teacher with b-boy soul.
Supercardioid is deeply rooted in the LA electronic music scene. He hosted 2 internet radio shows on vibeflow.com (01-03) called “Alias Circa” and “Platforum”. Prolifix, Deacon, Tabu, Remo and R.A.W. were just a few of the many local LA DJs to grace those decks.
Supercardioid has played in many venues in and around Los Angeles. You may have seen him regularly on the patio at RESPECT where he often introduced the crowd to guest artists. Most recently he jammed upstairs alongside long-time friend Phear (aka Sucio). Together they hosted FIRME dropping Soul Breaks/Electro/Hip-Hop/Funk/Disco Punk/House/ and Reggae. Supercardioid has also played at LA’s Club MUSE, KONKRETE JUNGLE (03-04) and as a resident at DOWNBEAT LOUNGE in Long Beach (04-09). Supercardioid was also a resident for the infamous FULL MOON COLLECTIVE boat parties in the LBC (05-08) .
For more than a decade Supercardioid has managed to hustle his way into the LA Electronic Music scene with poise and a strong dedication to the true roots and art-form of the music. Possessing knowledge of the breaks, battle skills in turntablism, and concentrated focus on programming mixes, Supercardioid has proven to be one of the top-notch DJs in the game.
