The young guns at East London outfit Sneaky Music step up with somewhat of a hybrid release for their third outing. Combining the talents of Michigan maestro Rick Wade and the young blood from the Mobilee stable bringing the feel bang up to date with the remix duties. A Detroit, London, Berlin, house music Bermuda triangle, if you like!
Rick Wade tirelessly continues to deliver deep and groove-led original slabs well into his third decade of producing and this luscious EP is no exception. A mix of old school beats with warm vintage keys with long established Mobilee records producer AND.ID almost re-working completely ‘Me & You’, giving a feel good dance floor filler touch full of mad drum hits and breaks. Whereas Sneaky label founder and newly Mobilee family member Ranacat comes up with a trippy lower tempo version of ‘Neuro Stimuli’ for those after party sunrise moments.

Making his label debut with the lone interpretation of ‘Plans & Plants’ is Retza. 

Hailing from Australia but now calling the UK home, Retza has firmly etched his place in the deep and organic global movement. With well over a decade of production experience, the London resident has showcased his exotic sound via All Day I Dream, Balance Music, Kindisch, SATYA, Sound Avenue and his own Retza imprint, amongst others. Also an accomplished DJ, Retza has travelled the world showcasing his unique selections and exquisite programming skills, while also holding a weekly residency on London’s highly regarded Bloop Radio. 

Now, following a remix for YokoO’s SATYA imprint to end the year, Retza opens 2024 making his Refraction debut with a groovy rendition of ‘Plans & Plants’. Taking a more direct dancefloor approach, while maintaining the elusive spirit of the original, the Aussie native constructs a fluid rhythmic core, complemented with meticulously manicured percussion, acidic motifs and timely vocal fragments. It’s this amalgamation of sound which ultimately makes for a versatile and club-effective version; a brilliant re-imagination that’s likely to find favor with a broad range of DJs across the coming months.

Bondage Music continues its ‘Home (Remixes)' package this July with part three, featuring Sven Tasnadi, Pablo Bolivar, Martin Aquino and more. Mihai Popoviciu: "The album's called "Home" because it is inspired by my experiences from my home city Sibiu in Romania. Home is also the place where the album was produced, in my stripped down studio. It is where I always return to rest and chill after touring the world and the place where I feel most safe and comfortable. The artwork shows an image of the airport lane in Sibiu with surrounding hills and mountains in the back. It is a metaphoric "gate" to both leave and return home." With ‘Home' gaining the attention and picking up support from the likes of Ryan Crosson, Luciano and Cesar Merveille, the Bondage-Music team now welcome to an array of talent to the label for 2017 as the LP is deconstructed and reworked across four brand new packages. Across the remix package Pablo Bolivar turns in a sun drenched acid-tinged take on ‘Sandstone', Frink strips back ‘Hypnosia' to a raw groove-led vibe and Martin Aquino dubs out ‘Sunshine' with swirling chords. Sven Tasnadi offers up a heady interpretation of ‘Music 999' to follow fuelled by stuttering vocals, stab sequences and a bumpy drum workout before Schlepp Geist & Krink's remix of ACK closes the package on a dark and brooding tip.
