Die Zusammenstellung “Abby” vom Duo aus Halle an der Saale wird als Vinylausgabe und im digitalen Format auf dem Label von Super Flu erscheinen – Monaberry. Wir sprachen mit den beiden Musikern über die Platte, die ausgesuchten Remixer – Martin Waslewski und Sven Tasnadi – und ihre weiteren Pläne.

Having turned quite a few heads with the first instalment “A Very Nice Combinado Volume Uno” (YAYHF 01), Hippie Dance sister label YOU AND YOUR HIPPIE FRIENDS plows forward ever, backwards never on the latest 12” selection A VERY NICE COMBINADO VOLUME DOS, with exclusive tracks from KASPER BJØRKE, PAULOR, FANTASTIC TWINS, ZOMBIES IN MIAMI and ROMAN FLÜGEL remixed by PACHANGA BOYS. 

Again a powerful combination of established and upcoming artists, this latest offering shares the predecessor’s thirst for adventure: after opening with the dustbowl belter LA RACE from PAULOR – a raw, slightly psychotic rocker spiritually akin to the beat contraptions of label head Rebolledo, we’re quickly shuffling towards PACHANGA BOYS’ hypnotic NEW BLAZER EDIT of the excellent ROMAN FLÜGEL cut DEO, followed by the echo-drenched vocal jam MOTHER FUCKING TWINS from FANTASTIC TWINS (aka The Twins). Danish luminary KASPER BJØRKE presents a soaring disco anthem with CHOIR OF YOUNG RAVERS that will bathe any dance floor in starlight, while Mexican duo ZOMBIES IN MIAMI closes the dance with the trippy FLASHBACK MANTRA, a cultist ritual turned neo-tribal club incantation.

A piano melody gets stuck in the mechanical clatter of a loom, or a similar apparatus. It gets carried away by the rhythmic forces, suddenly jerks free and expands into remarkable musical virtuosity and eventually encounters the casual vibes of an electric organ improvisation. That's the story of Felix Eul's new track Klavin cut short, a story that is intriguingly light and profound at the same time. Dole & Kom transform it into a slightly slower, but just as compelling dance floor tune. Then there's Nautilus, a title that is just as melodic and has a sophisticated air of understatement. Its groove gives rise to the idea of dirty mechanics with academic degrees who navigate a steampunk submarine 3000 leagues under the sea, seeking new adventures. Stephan Zovsky uses dramatic pad arrangements to turn this tune into a technoish, highly ecstatic banger.
