Für Folge #29 hat sich der DJ und Produzent Andreas Henneberg mit unserem Host Moritz im Süden Berlins getroffen. Viele von euch kennen Andreas mit Sicherheit von einem seiner vielen Gigs über die letzten Jahrzehnte, ob Solo oder in seinem B2B Projekt "The Glitz". Andreas hat in diesem Interview aber vor allem über seinen individuellen Weg und musikalische Reise gesprochen. Freut euch also wieder einmal über spannende Geschichte, über das “damals” und heute der Musikproduktion, Geschichten über die Anfänge mit Schallplatten und Mixtapes, und wie diese Leidenschaft des Musikhörens und -produzierens bei Andreas bis heute anhält.
Ihr erfahrt in dieser Folge aber auch sehr spannende Einblicke in die vielen Projekte, die Andreas am Rande und neben der elektronischen Musikszene mitgestaltet. The musical background of these two guys is just very different. Everything began with an oldschool hip hop and crossover. In the middle of the 90’s they found their love for house and techhouse music. After moving on as DJ’s and having some solo releases the young and talented guys decided to create THE GLITZ in 2007. There they started with three members - but now they’re down to two now. The first EP “White Line” was a huge success. Surprisingly THE GLITZ found themselves in many DJ playlists and other electronic music charts around the world. Their follwong releases “Chatter” and “Tenga” tie in with the success of “White line”. THE GLITZ have a few releases waiting in the start blocks. So you can get ready for next singles called “Silbersee”, “Last Panther” and “Red Leaves”. Labels like Material, Ideal, Voltage Musique and Pocketgame support THE GLITZ and their kind of electronic music. The keen sense for the right sound at the right moment makes THE GLITZ not only convincing as producer but also as a DJ-Team in the clubs. People love their energetic sets, but also to see their passion behind the decks is worthwhile is the motivation of this two guys.

DJ & Producer from Hamburg, Germany

Andreas Henneberg has made a name for himself as a DJ, label manager and producer of great repute, with a sonic fingerprint that is easily recognisable yet hard to define. Since starting out in the 90s, he has put his name to over 140 releases that operate somewhere between Techno, House and Minimal and always explore unfamiliar sounds in unique new ways.

As well as being the founder of his own label Voltage Musique (with friends Daniel Nitsch, Marquez Ill and Stefan Schuldt) which turns ten years old this year, Henneberg has also made himself at home on influential imprints like Ideal Audio, Confused Recordings, Herzblut and AREAL and is a key part of the Plantage13 family. He doesn’t only produce under his given name, though, but also explores a number of other styles of music as The Glitz (with close friend Mr. Daniel Nitsch), Cascandy and Hennon. Whatever he puts his name to, though, you can be assured that it comes from a place of deep understanding and appreciation that too few producers have in the modern age.

Given the amount of music Andreas has produced over the years, it’s no surprise he is also an in demand ghost-writer for many established artists, helping them to realise their ideas and putting to good use his year’s of priceless studio know how.

As well as all this, the Berliner is also a respected mastering-engineer and DJs on a regular basis at clubs all over the world, spinning knowing blends of House and Techno that not only make you dance, but also make you think. It all started for him at seminal clubs like Tresor and at the very first Berghain/Panoramabar, so his sense of history and class as a DJ is unri- valled, with his sets never failing to leave lasting marks on those that hear them.

Hailing from the beautiful country side of Germany, music producer and DJ Berndt Bechstein is forging his path in the electronic music scene, track by track. Music is an essential part of his life and you can find him in the studio every free second of the day, producing heavy hitting music aimed for the dance floor.

With his very distinct sound, Berndt’s tunes has already made the rounds in clubs around the globe, creating a frenzy where ever they are being played. The genre is hard to pin-point and swirls between groovy Techno, Tech House and Minimal. His driving style always carries the signature gnarly synths and perky percussions he is loved for.

In 2021 he joined the “SNOE” label family with the groundbreaking “Duck and Dive EP”, and the label has since then become his homebase. Through his solid releases he has already gotten support from artists such as Laurent Garnier, Jamie Jones, Joyce Muniz, Roger Sanchez and of course always from the label family Andreas Henneberg and Beth Lydi.

Berndt’s sound is groovy, playful and catchy. His passion lies in creating extraordinary experiences on the dancefloor and his sets are all about having fun and enjoying the fleeting, beautiful moments of the night.
