awwww how much I love returning to Dampfer every single time! can't believe it has already been my third crazy Dampfer ride as VALE :o this time, playing from 3-6, I was accompanied by many friends to celebrate together & although Dampfer turned quickly into a very full sauna (one hot summer day in Berlin haha!), it never emptied.. the music, sweat & energy kept us all going, really what a wild ride! Moreover this time, the marvellous Antonio Riverón created a magical cover for my set, inspired by the music and the floor itself. The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the first sketch was "Dampfer discovery", and in a way, we had similar ideas for this cover without talking it through too much.. this is what I love about creative collaborations, ideally inspiration goes back and fourth like ping pong <3

Und wieder einmal hinterlasst Ihr mich sprachlos nach einem dieser wunderbaren Momente der kollektiven Extase auf meinem Lieblingsfestival... Auch wenn ich es selbst erst einen Tag vorher erfahren habe, dass ich Britta Arnold für diesen wahrlich perfekten Slot vertreten werde und schon ehrlich gesagt etwas nervös war, ohne Vorbereitung diese Aufgabe anzunehmen -
Es war wieder mal der absolute Wahnsinn! 

DANKE dass ihr trotz des Regens von Anfang bis Ende da wart! Ich kann gar nicht sagen wie froh ich bin einmal mehr diesen grandiosen Floor mit euch zusammen durchgeknetet zu haben! :D

The Berlin based artist Dompe hits hard with his first release on SNOE. „Take A Rest“ makes you want to do anything but, with it’s tooly groove and positive vibe coming together through a bouncy baseline and driving percussions. „Right Away“ keeps the vibe but upps the stakes through adding elements of vocals and a catchy synth, giving the whole a more funky feeling. „Real Deal“ is showcasing the completeness of this EP and serves you a light and bouncy track perfect to bring the mood up on the dancefloor. Julian Wassermann steps up to the SVT plate with an immersive four track effort that showcases his knack for deep tech melodies. A minimal bassline and synths straight from the depths of space lay the groundwork for Alpha, the kickoff into the EP. A subtle yet effective mood-setter, it makes for a great inaugural cut as the release unfolds. Title piece Aurea calmly follows, looming in with tribal infused percussion and lush, effusive vocals. Garnering an equally atmospheric mood, Wassermann aptly combines airy pads and dark synths into an immensely polarizing cut. People Are Strange dives in on a more dynamic note, centered around a solid bassline with alternating synth lines. Swiftly morphing into an energetic banger via punchy bass and ghostly vocal chops, the construction carries major peak time appeal. For the final contribution Imperia, Wassermann calls on the production skills of fellow Muenchener H.B.C. to create a radiant piece of spacious tech. Layering modular strobes and arpeggiated synths, their production styles merge harmoniously, resulting in a dancefloor-ready strapping groove.

Moonwalk kick off 2017 in their usual style, unrolling the first production effort of the year in the form of three original tracks and a collab with label mate Teenage Mutants.

Komet comes in swiftly with a low end throbbing bass, setting a murky mood. The duo apply one of their hallmarks, developing an uplifting winding groove that is equally enveloping as it is relentless, making for a great build-up track.
Recalling a celestial atmosphere, Abstract offers an upbeat tech house exploration featuring alert arpeggiators and an optimistic melody.
Odensa, a coop with Teenage Mutants emerges from the same dark standpoint, laden with earworm synth loops and a sunken bassline. While the combination provides a steady backbone, the groove is leavened by a chordal countermelody that seizes the main focus.

By far the gloomiest track of the bunch, Vite sees Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants join forces and intersect styles in a buzzing banger full of familiar elements. A paced rhythm, rave pads, dubby stabs and subtle kicks craft a relaxed, yet effective build-up. Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants’ knack for deep tech flourishes and synthetic tones finds perfect expressions in this EP, ranging from low to high energy heaters fit for any set time.
