My Machine

I like to think of my self as an experimental type of musician.  I work two jobs to provide for a family of three and one thing I love to do for my self is lock my self in the bedroom and record my ideas using my DAW multi-track recorder on my Iphone 4.  I don't have too much money to put into recording equipment or instruments at that matter,  I do however have a blue yamaha bass, a small acoustic guitar, a djembe drum, yamaha keyboard, amplifier and a few good ideas.  Making music is my passion and I love to listen to my work repeatedly when I am truly proud of something that I did.  I suppose that my main influence while growing up has been Les Claypool from Primus, Nine Inch Nails, Oldschool Aerosmith, and I am embarrassed to admit this but Marilyn Manson as well.  As I got a bit older I started to listen to a lot of Phish, Charles Mingus, Miles Davis, Galactic, and a whole bunch of Jam bands.  As time went on I grew to be influenced by my musician friends around me and started to experiment with different funk/psycadelic/rock genres.

As of today I have the ability to take the musical knowledge that I have acquired through out the years and put together an okay song.  I find my best stuff that I make has somewhat of a middle eastern sound to it.  I don't know where that exactly comes from but I am glad that the sounds come out of me.  I used to say that I was only a bass player and although it is still probably my strongest instrument,  I do believe that I turned out to be an okay song maker.  I say song maker because I don't actually sit down and write music unless I'm writing some sort of lyrics.  I find that some of my best stuff flows freely out of me or if I get an idea and if I really feel that it is all that good than I will remember it and build on it later via recording.  Enjoy.
