We at The Quietus are thrilled to announce that our record label's next stop on the journey of putting out vinyl by people whose music pleases our ears will come from none other than... THE CHARLATANS! On Monday September 29th we're going to be releasing a limited edition 7" single of 'Talking In Tones', the first track from the band's as-yet-untitled 12th album, which has just been finished at the band's Big Mushroom studios. What's more, tQPC artists Grumbling Fur have done a dubbed-out cone-friendly remix (to be revealed in due course) called 'Tonal Nargual (Fur Star Liner Aquatic Ape Mix'. The 'Fur's Daniel O'Sullivan and Alexander Tucker also designed a side each of the 7" artwork.

Here is a song I mixed for the band Snowmine.  

Snowmine’s songs are primarily written by singer and keyboardist, Grayson Sanders, a student of classical composition under esteemed composers Jerica Oblak and Justin Dello Joio at NYU, before more recently turning his attention to indie music. In addition to his work in Snowmine, Sanders leads the Aytia|Matia Experiential Performance Group, and is founder of the experimental interactive media startup, Shape Massive. Sanders is joined in Snowmine by guitarists Calvin Pia and Austin Mendenhall, drummer Alex Beckmann, and bassist Jay Goodman.

I’m never sleeping, I’m too busy keeping track of all the ways they say I might die: A turbulent airplane, the shuddering L train, a sudden flood of brake lights on I-5. My heart rate gets nervous, your phone is out of service. I’m sweating all the things I could have done, while I stand on the corner, eyeing all the foreigners, like I straight up forgot where I come from. I’m never sleeping, I’m too busy keeping track of all the things that could go wrong while young turks, they line up, the hackles on their spines up, across from riot cops stretched ten blocks long. And in satellite photos, some scorched patch of earth shows tyrants erecting statues of themselves. I tape up windows just to practice, cash stashed in the mattress, and a year of bottled water on my shelves. Tom Brokaw’s talking about a dirty bomb. I got another call from my poor mom. I lie awake with one hand on your back. I’m never sleeping; I’m still keeping track.
