Bristolian DJ and producer Gallegos is fast becoming known in the underground for his truly unique blend of hard-hitting house and rough and ready sampling. With releases on Moxie’s ‘On Loop’ imprint, London based party and imprint ‘Feelings Worldwide’ and a pivotal EP on ‘Holding Hands’ in 2021 that brought him adulation from Avalon Emerson, Eris Drew and Octo Octa to name just a few.

The sample wizard now makes his debut on Baby Rollén’s Slump Recordings label, a year in waiting due to the severe delays with vinyl pressing plants, this miraculous musical journey sees the light of day. Having collaborated on numerous releases together, Gallegos releasing on Rollén’s Slump imprint was destined to come soon.

After releasing four compilations on cassettes featuring tracks from Bliss Inc., Low Tape, Maruwa, DJ Lifegoals, Greenwald, DJ Safeword and others St.Petersburg based label Snippets Music present their first vinyl release. EP was written and produced by a musician from Utrecht, a regular guest of Operator Radio and the author of the digital release "Trans Atlantique" for Gestalt Records — Tifra.

For the debut vinyl release Tifra has prepared three tracks which were remixed by the artist who released vinyl releases on Lobster Theremin, Craft Music and GASP Records — Marco Lazovic and label head of 10010 Records — Ksky.

On ACEN037, All Centre favourite Duswunder returns to the label. Following 2020’s Plated Body, he delivers a new 5 track EP. The record explores adrenaline, fictitious aesthetics and “bodily imaginations”, embracing the anticipation, ecstasy and anxiety of the world we are entering into.

The record begins with the atmospheric opening track Tensing Limbs. Easing in at a slow, crawling pace, haunting choirs soar above echoing sub bass. The emergence of shining, metallic hi-hats gives us a taste of the percussive work to come, as overdriven bass punches between the rising voices.

Next, whirring sound design kicks off Bound In
Twisted Geometry. A minimal introduction led by
pitch-shifted cymbals gives way to thumping percussion and clanging bass hits before the emergence of a wonky, off-kilter melody. The track continues apace, conjuring an otherworldly track which retains Duswunder’s club sensibilities.

The energy rises on Chamber, with electro-inspired percussion shifting around masterful pieces of sound design. The intensity of the track engulfs the listener through the constant rising and falling of synths before giving way to a colossal plucked melody. Duswunder then launches us back into an arresting percussive workout anchored by pitch-shifting basslines.

Referring back to the title of his previous record, Still Plated retains elements of Duswunder’s previous work whilst pushing the envelope forward. Driving bass hits and stuttering kicks provide the foundation for slippery percussive patterns and an eerie echoing melody. A towering synth reminiscent of early grime records then emerges, soaring between unsteady percussive patterns.

Finally, Duswunder closes the record with Stamina. The tempo lowers slightly but the energy doesn’t let up, as dancefloor-ready percussion introduces us to the track. Suddenly, all elements drop away as a precision-engineered, ultra-low bassline emerges. Gradually drums are reintroduced as a soaring synth melody brings us back to the affective heights of the record, punctuated by mangled bass stabs.

Re-imagining vintage club sounds through a contemporary lens, Tifra is no stranger to stretching the electronic music template into new forms and ideas. His left-field house and old-school breaks have found their way onto Gestalt Records and Rough Recordings, and here the producer turns in three cuts of blissed-out electronica, hedonistic progressive and jungle-run club with its sights firmly fixated front left, complete with a wicked remix from one of modern dance music's most reliable names - Roza Terenzi.

‘Plastic Replicant’ is a vocal-laced electro-house roller that takes inspiration from the golden-era of 90s electronic music and fuses it with the organic, multi-genre blends of the current gen. The ravey continuum is laced with high-frequency vocal stabs and deep basslines designed for a heads-down approach on the dancefloor, before ‘Entomology’ captures the playful side of the club with its shape-shifting acid-lines, trance-licked melodies and kaleidoscopic blend of colour, feeling and mood.

Out of the club and onto the beach, ‘International Waters’ is a trip-hop inspired, downtempo dub that will delight ambient and laid-back electronic-revelers with its chirpsing birds and aqua-like aesthetic, before Roza keeps the dualism alive with a stripped-back jungle flip of the original; the perfect score for the perfect daydream.
