Music has always fascinated me. Since I’m a child I've always dealt intensively with music across many genres. Whether it was punk, indie, synth-pop, psy-rock or rap. Electronic dance music, especially techno, captivated me in a very special way for several reasons. It creates an atmosphere over a longer period of time that can tell whole stories, no mere stringing of songs with pauses in between – one thing I love about DJing. Plus, of course, come together and dance in beautiful spaces that I've experienced in countless club nights in Berlin.

For my current style of DJing, I’m focusing on a high tempo, a rolling yet precise beat and a selection of driving and hypnotic as well as some sort of groovy sounds, which can also be found in this mix.

In addition to my solo project as Nona, I'm also part of re:flect, a multidiscilinary music and art collective that just has been founded and is gonna start on the 10th of June. So stay tuned ;)
Furthermore I'm one half of the DJ-duo Xonic.

For me, techno is not just about DJing and dancing, it's political. It offered and is still offering opportunities to create places of freedom of expression where alternative cultures and identities come together creating new spaces of experience that the world urgently needs. Never forget where techno came from and what values it stands for! <3

Japau's passion for techno flared up in 2013 when he accidentally ended up at a techno party in Berlin's famous "Arena Club". He was immediately infected and since then, techno has been an integral part of his life and he can no longer imagine life without it. His fascination with DJing reached its peak after countless nights of partying, when Japau bought his first own controller - a Pioneer DDJ-400 in 2019.

Hey everyone,

I would like to share with you my project for this year. I’m pitching a subscription program that will take you on a year long journey into my real-time music production. The project will be explored together with my audience as we travel along through the vast and complex outer space of music....
Having the experience of being a label owner and organizing parties, collaborating and being with the crowd, I have always tried to incorporate an awareness of the music industry‘s mechanisms. After more than a decade of working with vinyl (producing, selling, collecting, gifting, swapping, and losing), I want to deviate from the sluggish times of the last years and rethink my approach to music distribution. To achieve this I will use the Bandcamp Subscription Service.....
After signing up, subscribers will receive a track every Thursday throughout the whole year of 2023. You’ll receive 52 tracks for 52€. At the end of each month, non-subscribers will be able to buy the monthly digital EPs for 2€ per track. For those who fear commitment of any kind, single tracks can be purchased for 3€....
Dividing the year into 4 seasons, every quarter‘s content will be presented in a continuous mix made by affiliated artists and friends. The fast rhythm of the output is an integral part oft the framework because it encourages more playfulness, spontaneity, and surprise. I’ll experiment with making versions of tracks by expanding the duration, multiplying, and reconfiguring the order of my material. Appropriated, sampled, and recorded fragments will reappear to disturb the semantics of a conventional album, releasing different meanings after each slightly shifted repetition. Thus interrelations between the output can stretch over a year‘s time, poking at sonic memory and rigid listening behavior. The habitual 30 minutes attention span a vinyl EP requires is given way to explore limitless digital possibilities. Even though I see great value in the compact physical object of a record, such benefits as the distribution process, pricing, and overall autonomy overrule that fetish in this new strategy. I will continue to produce vinyl, but for this project, I´d like to subvert the industry‘s superstructures (which tend to exploit the artists´ share) and strive for my own sales autonomy even more. You will be able to communicate with me on a surface level but also unconsciously via your digital trace. Streaming and purchase behavior, likes, and critiques will be met quicker and more intuitively.....

United Beats Records label founder MAD MAXX is back again on radiOzora’s wavelenghts.

Max Peterson has been performing and releasing his unique brand of trance music under various project names since 1998. Max was born in San Diego, California in 1979, and spent most of his teenage years in France. He then developed his production and performance skills in California, Mexico, Spain, and every part of the planet with a vibrant trance scene.
Max’s passion for music began at a young age. Max’s father Gary Peterson is a highly accomplished composer, guitarist, and keyboard player. Gary was a member of influential 60’s-70’s cult band “Formerly Fat Harry”. His band played next to legends such as Pink Floyd, Roy Harper, Third ear band, King Crimson, Fleetwood mac, to name a few… Max’s first tracks were recorded and produced by Gary when Max was just 14 years old.

Upon moving to the U.S., Maxx joined the pioneering trance music collective and record store – The Ion Exchange in Santa Cruz – as co-owner and resident DJ. Maxx moved onto DJ’ing in San Francisco, playing for all the Bay Area’s trance venues including the trance collective CCC. He also performed at all the underground warehouse and outdoor events in Northern California. Max quickly gained respect for his stomping deep psychedelic sets. At this time he also toured Canada and other cities in the USA.

In 2000, Max formed the seminal San Francisco trance project BIODEGRADABLE with Samy Guediche of CPU, and Nicolas Oesch of Mekkanikka. In 2001, they released their album Phaser which received great success at the time in the psychedelic scene and became a springboard for all members to launch their successful solo projects.

In 2001, Max joined up with Davina Elmosnino and formed the trance project Sirius Isness. Sirius Isness went on to release more than 150 tracks on prestigious trance labels. Sirius releases 3 full length albums “Resolution of Duality, Breaking the Matrix , Trancefusion” and 1 compilation. The first album was released on Moon Spirits records in 2004, the second on Mind Control Records in 2005, and the third was released in 2006 on Phantasm records, accompanied by their compilation, Mind Your Own Isness. Sirius Isness has traveled to almost every country where trance parties happen. Their most popular destinations are Japan, Brazil, Mexico, Portugal, Greece, Australia to name a few.

Max, then started in his solo project in 2007- MAD MAXX- the result of years of hard work, perfecting a unique sound, embodying all the travels, experiences and parties of the past 20 years. The music is a mix of trance, ethnic and deep sounds, with a strong kick and ominous bass line, an electro touch, emotional chants, and at times nostalgic atmospheres, with a BPM ranging from 138 to 145 in general. All of this sonic mayhem delivered in a whirlwind of psychedelia of course….

MAD MAXX has been delivering his live set to all trance freaks in the world on a weekly basis, and has collaborated with numerous artists…including JOHN 00 FLEMING, SKAZI, PIXEL, AVALON, SONIC SPECIES, STRYKER, BLOCK DEVICE, MENOG, TRISTAN, SPACE TRIBE, GMS, PAINKILLER , POLI, XSI, S-RANGE, VOYAGER (aka Altom), BIO-GENESIS, AUDIO X, BIONIX, MEKKANIKKA , DIGITAL TALK, JOHN PHANTASM and more…

The first MAD MAXX album “AFTERWORLD”, was released May 2008 on PHANTASM records. The second MAD MAXX album was released in June 2011 on his label, UNITED BEATS RECORDS. MAD MAXX’s 3rd album will be out in fall of 2015 on UNITED BEATS RECORDS….

'I've kept this mix really close to what i believe in, which is groovy uptempo high energy techno. As i always search for sounds i feel are connected to my roots i’ve tried to keep this set very clean and rhythmic on a consistent basis.'


MARRØN is always trying to exceed the limits of himself and the crowd, with his fast but extremely rhythmic sound driven by his roots. Highly inspired by the powerful and strong-willed Marrons who freed themselves from slavery to live freely in the primeval forest of Surinam.
Starting his musical evolution with Afro Deep, characterized by its African beats and used 
these elements to connect with techno music.

The freedom and diversity of techno persuaded him to really dig into the underground scene and create a name of his own. This sound contains African groove and a powerful but atmospheric techno sound with which he aims to hypnotize the crowd to stay on the dancefloor for hours.

MARRØN is co-founder and resident of the fast growing underground movement named Eerste Communie based in Amsterdam. It’s save to say that the growth and recognition of MARRØN as a dj has alot to do with the NDYUKA PODCAST serie, where he emphasizes to drop a serie of podcasts with pure club dancefloor techno.
