Wooooow, people 🤯❤️😍 - what an outstanding experience playing at fusion festival for the first time! We proudly present the very first recording of a bassara live set! It's as raw and pure as our gig was - with a glitch here and there, but straight from the heart :)We had a lot of fun playing - and to see the dubstation packed with all of your smiling faces made us sooo happy.
Thanks to all the people dancing, shouting and feeling the groove with us at the dubstation! And thank you, Kulturkosmos, for making this great festival happen and inviting us for performing our second-ever live set. 
Last but not least, a big thank you to our dear crew of friends for joining and supporting us.

- Was sind deine musikalischen Einflüsse? Was ist dein musikalischer Hintergrund?

Musik habe ich schon als Jugendlicher immer sehr gerne gehört und gesammelt. In meiner Jugend habe ich mich in Phasen durch viele Genres gehört, so gut wie Alles außer harten Rock oder Metal. 
Um die Abiturzeit habe ich richtig viel Hip-Hop, Trip-Hop & Reggae gehört und bin eine Zeit lange richtig gerne auf Drum & Bass-Partys gefahren und habe Hip-Hip & Reggae-Festivals sowie Konzerte besucht, bevor mein Interesse immer mehr zur elektronischen Musik gewandert ist.

 2015 habe ich angefangen, regelmäßig in Hannovers Clubs zu spielen, meine eigenen Partys zu organisieren und auch meine ersten kleineren Festivalgigs zu spielen. Auch die ersten kleinen Gigs sogar in Hamburg oder Berlin, kamen schon 2015. 
Mit der Kumpanei haben wir einen superschönen „geheimen“ Club in Hannover bespielt, und 2017 ging es dann gemeinsam mit „Ketoga“ und der „MoynMoyn“-Familie richtig los.
Seit 2016 konnte ich im Sommer immer regelmäßiger auf vielen bekannten Festivals in Deutschland spielen, anfangs noch spontan und dann zukünftig gebucht! Die Liste füllt sich weiter, Yuhu!

- Was macht eine gute Afterhour aus?

Bei einer guten Afterhour brauch es tolle Menschen, gute Musik (keine Grenzen gesetzt, irgendwo zwischen verspult, entschleunigt und lustig), ne gepflegte Auswahl an Drinks und auch an frischem, gesundem Essen, sowohl die Möglichkeit, aufzulegen als zu chillen als auch zu dancen, die Möglichkeit wegzudriften und natürlich was Geiles zu futtern, bevor es ins Bettchen geht.

- Wie hast du den Gig empfunden?

Die Anfrage kam ziemlich kurzfristig 3 Tage vorher rein, als ich gerade kaputt im Bett lag. Mein Herz hat sofort einen Hüpfer gemacht und danach war ich super aufgedreht und energiegeladen.
Hab  die gute Nachricht erst mal freudig mit ein paar Lieblingsmenschen geteilt!

An dem Wochenende hatte ich geplant, auf einem kleinen Festival von Freunden in NRW zu spielen und am Samstagabend bin ich dann von dort 10 km mit meinem Bike durch die Hügel & Wälder (auch noch im Sonnenuntergang) zum Bahnhof und mit dem ICE nach Berlin. Beim Falafelessen noch schnell ein paar letzte neue Tracks mit Hotspot runtergeladen, die ich noch unbedingt spielen wollte und dann rein in den Kater. :) Super lieb & professionell empfangen worden und mich auf Eingrooven für die Nacht gefreut und die ganzen Floors beim 10 Jahre Holzmarkt Jubiläum zu entdecken. :) 
Als ich dann übernehmen sollte, lief ziemlich schneller House-Breakbeat auf 131 bpm, und da musste ich kurz überlegen, wie ich jetzt spielen soll. Bin dann einfach meinem Konzept treu geblieben und habe mit sattem & deepem Downbeat auf 102 bpm angefangen, wie geplant. Der Switch kam gut an, da es innerhalb recht kurzer Zeit ziemlich voll wurde auf dem kleinen Kuckuck-Floor und obwohl ich super aufgeregt war, war ich ziemlich sicher, was ich spielen soll. :)
Die ersten 1,5 Stunden waren richtig fett und ich hab etwas hochgespielt, bevor es langsam leerer wurde. Da war es allerdings auch schon 7 Uhr morgens und die Sonne hat schon geballert draußen. :) Davon habe ich mich ein wenig verunsichern lassen, hab mich dann wieder eingegroovt und etwas die Energie raus genommen zum Morgen, um zum Ende etwas ruhiger und langsamer zu spielen.  
Insgesamt bin ich ziemlich zufrieden, aber natürlich auch selbstkritisch... 
Auf jeden Fall bin ich super dankbar für die Einladung und meinen ersten Gig im Kater!

A Brief Utopia (A project by Jinjé) A Brief Utopia was born from an EP released earlier this year by Jinjé (aka, Lee J Malcolm from Vessels) on Scene Unseen. Stepping away from his usual production duties and focusing more on his passion for live drumming and percussion instruments. This was the starting block for much of the composition on the this record. He quickly realised that this would be a brilliant thing to do live and reached out to fellow musicians Danny Templeman (Submotion Orchestra, Gentleman’s DubClub) and Nathan Moseley (Fwar, Brolin) to put together a high energy show aimed at clubs and festivals alike.A Brief Utopia brings a colourful, vibrant and visually engaging experience. Drawing on a love of music from around the world focused through a lens of live drumming, tuned percussion and psychedelic synth work.
