A legendary name in Hungary's DnB scene and strong favourite of label boss DLR, the trio dug deep into their sofa souls to deliver their most ambitious body of work to date, in a culmination of their near 20 year career. 

A proper long player, it's an organic and visceral embodiment of Spinline, bringing a distinctive Eastern European / Baltic flavour with influences steeped in Acid House, Techno, Drum & Bass. 

'Reaching The Oasis' is a deep dive into the Spinline psyche in a project none of us expected would ever happen, but one we are so glad could, in a special release and the very first artist album on Sofa Sound Bristol.

Dispatch Dubplate continues to celebrate the best in unreleased dubs and in-demand tracks from the world of drum and bass with the next edition of this prestigious series, brought to you by Zero T and Black Barrel. Fans of the label will be familiar with these two label favourites, both responsible for several classic album releases for Dispatch and countless well-received EPs.

Leading the release is the VIP of “Sonic Bionic” from Zero T. The original has been in heavy rotation since release in 2021, and this VIP has been a secret weapon in Zero T’s sets of late. When Ant TC1 suggested a VIP treatment for this track, Zero T decided to take the vibe back a couple of years from the original’s nod to the Full Cycle sound of 1998, to a more ’96 vibe. A classic stripped-back Sandman break and a call-and-response bassline, are joined by a halftime intro and breakdown, for a further nod to the dark Wu-Tang-style hip-hop influences of the original.

The DLR Remix of Black Barrel’s “Fabric” makes up the next track in this split release. The original from 2019 will be well known to many. This DLR Remix adds that trademark funk to this classic roller.

Completing the digital release is an incredible collab from both artists, a soulful vocal leads “Deep Inside” as Zero T and Black Barrel flex their liquid credentials. Building on Black Barrel’s original melody with techno-influenced, looped-out vibes – deep by name, deep by nature.

The vinyl exclusive track for the limited edition heavyweight release is Black Barrel’s own VIP of “Fabric”. Another secret weapon, this rework includes added weight and intensity – building on the original’s glitched funk.

M-zine returns to Sofa Sound for his second artist EP, we're given four tracks that have an identity like no other. The Belgium based artist has gone from strength to strength in recent years and this EP marks the firming up of the M-zine's relationship with Sofa Sound Bristol.

After remixing Alix Perez and Liam Bailey’s ‘Moving On’ Break was keen to get Liam in the Studio to work on music in person and ‘Gunshot Love’ doesn’t disappoint. 

Neosoul intro flavours set up a lush backdrop for Liam’s expressive vocal performance. Switching on the drop to a modern Jungle workout, Break injects huge low subs and savage wobbles to the journey. Vocal toasts and slick drum edits roll out this arrangement with oldskool pads keeping this piece developing towards it’s stripped down conclusion.

A cut back dub mix is included with the single, peppered with echoed licks from the lead vocal hook and space for a more bass and drum led affair.

M-zine represents everything we love at Sofa Sound and the album is layered with warm textures and organic tones to form a rich body of work with great depth that rewards both your patience and your sound system.

With influences rooted in dub, techno, funk and soul, M-zine embraces the lost art of simplicity and is focused on getting the most out of just 4 or 5 core elements so everything works together nicely in the mix.

Written mostly during covid; clubs were closed, but M-zine had his rig at home and used the isolation to craft his own little soundscape; something pure and introspective, nice and simple.

Its subtle, meditative and Sofa Sound through and through - a warm collection of tracks for you to appreciate.
