Vocal artist, turntablist, composer & improviser.

Cada vez me seduce más el estado hipnótico que tiene el proceso de composición. Es como un viaje, físico y espiritual. Lo interesante –y complejo a la vez- es que, por lo general, no tiene un destino claro. Sin embargo, lo primero e invariable es delinear algún aspecto fundamental del universo de la obra, algo que me empuje, algo que decir.

Buscar cierto equilibrio entre la abstracción y la síntesis de algunos fenómenos particulares se ha convertido en una de mis obsesiones hoy en día, ya sea en la elección de los materiales tanto como el modo de codificarlos. Para ello trato de de exiliarme de algunos prejuicios, sobre todo de los propios.

Cecilia Pereyra.-
She began her guitar studies with Irma Costanzo. She earned her Bachelor Degree in Musical Arts –Orientation in Composition from the Department of Music and Sound Arts of IUNA –National University Institute of Arts, "Carlos López Buchardo." At the same Institution, she lectured the Conference "Cepa de Ión, composition and interpretation". She attended the "Listening Composing Seminar" in Camping Musical Bariloche, lectured with Mariano Etkin. Also to the Melos - Gandini fellowship, a Composition Workshop lectured by Gerardo Gandini, and the "First National Congress of Music: Argentinean Art: Retrospective and projections at the XXI century", IUNA.
She won the SADAIC 2009 Composition prize at the "Guillermo Graetzer"
Competition for a symphonic piece with "... Y su sombra.", the Contemporary Music Composition prize 2011 " 50 years of the CLAEM " (Fondo Nacional de las Artes) with “Iniciar sesión” and the National prize of the Micro-days II of Composition and Contemporary Music 2011 with “El rigor de Ruster”.
She currently works as a Teacher at the Department of Musical Arts, IUNA, lecturing Introduction to Composition, and Musical Forms and Musical Analysis.
