Mannequin is so happy to release under its wings one of the best talents in the minimal synth new scene that you better don’t miss.  
 
We are talking about the serbian duo Sixth June – Laslo Antal and Lidija Andonov – who are rising from the mostly unknown music scene in Belgrade but nowdays re-based in the analog paradise called Berlin.  
 
Sixth June started their musical adventure back in 2007 and in their tracks you can let your heart listen their deep influence for everything that has a synthesizer sound and found its origin in the Eighties; the duo represents perfectly the two sides of the same coin, in fact while Laslo is producing obscure but expressive, powerful and danceable textures, on the back side the voice of Lidija is living the shape to a wobbling atmosphere you won’t escape from. 
 
Their debut album “Everything”  released on Genetic Music’s side label No EBM Blanc had 
got an enormous positive feedback from  the Minimal Electronics-fans worldwidethey were 
playing live at BIM Belgian Fest 2010 in December 2010 togheter with Absolute Body 
Control, Portion Control, Twice A Man and many other amazing bands.

Juju & Jordash Online Radio Festival x Boiler Room Live Set

National Center for the Arts of Grenoble, France, commissioned Xeno & Oaklander to score an original piece of sound design entitled ‘Movements’. It aired during the museum’s online radio exhibition entitled ‘Take You There Radio’, in June 2015. Here it is available as a digital download through Ghostly.

Recorded live at the Xeno & Oaklander analog synth studio in Brooklyn, the 35 minute piece was inspired by travel in space and time. Field recordings gleaned during their travels are mixed in. The work is largely situated around the use of the Serge Modular and the new Sequential Prophet 6. Synth guitar washes abound with spacious string hooks, ethereal vocals, shamanistic drums and arpeggios with echoes of early Philip Glass.

OMG JAPAN: Rare & Experimental Japanese Pop (1980 - 1989)

Rrose—named after Marcel Duchamp's character, Rrose Selavey—is a dark and mysterious figure who makes dark and mysterious music. It comes mainly on his own Eaux label after early forays on the influential Sandwell District, and it combines mean and heavy overtones with more lithe and agile synths work. Most recently this American producer and live act served up an absorbing album of droning soundscapes on Seattle’s Further Records, whilst 2015’s EP output has seen him master supple techno forms drenched in reverb and soot black atmospheres.   This deep, thick and industrially influenced sound carries over in to his live set, and that is exactly what we are serving up for you on our next podcast. 

This one hour session is an absorbing one that sucks you deep down a blackened rabbit hole. It is one that recreates his show at this year's Dekmantel Festival and across the course of an hour invites your mind to get lost in elongated synth lines that slowly drift about like planets in orbit. Occasional percussive patterns and crunchy textures get loosely scattered across the airwaves and along the way the brooding clouds break to let in some blissful rays of optimism. There are few who have a sound as focussed and singular as this, as this podcast proves.

HALFWAY HOUSE - Light Waves

Soft Metals is an electronic music duo from Portland, Oregon. Its members Ian Hicks and Patricia Hall began writing and recording songs together in the spring of 2009. Inspired by a diverse array of synthesizer music, their sound lies somewhere between dance music, austere synthetic pop, and experimental electronic composition. 
Soft Metals is signed to Captured Tracks and released their first record, an 5 song EP titled “The Cold World Melts” in July 2010. Their debut self-titled album came out in July of 2011. FACT magazine called Soft Metals “one of the most accomplished and ambitious of the myriad new synth-pop acts coming out of the States.” In 2013, they released their 2nd album, "Lenses". They have toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. Currently the duo is working on their 3rd album.
