Cosmic Force returns to Something Happening Somewhere for an all-out ghetto affair in collaboration with the mighty Dexter. Four relentless and unpretentious dance floor cuts with a high energy high fun(k) factor. It’s as high of a dose of the magical alchemy between man and derailing machines as you can find. Every second of this record feels like entering an unknown dangerous zone, blink once and someone could sweep out the motherboard beneath you and turn everything inside out. A robot’s brain disintegrating while you’re still plugged inside racing through it as everything slowly falls apart, without the safety programs to protect you. The great digital escape part II.

Drum Techniek is like taking a LCD drumbeat mixed in a blender with some vitalising capacitor hallucinogens. If the undeniable groove of the first one and a half minute isn’t enough, a jaw shattering bass line creates even more bad ass vigour. Geheugen Meuk’s unstoppable energy train is fuelled by a hypnotising stomping bass line that is intersected by warbled dystopian chords. Lost in the transistor mind, the memory chip slowly starts emitting smoke and shape shifts beyond the point of recognition. Leaving the gates open for uncontrollable off script imagination to reign.

Sloppenwijkkont takes the same approach as Geheugen Meuk but adds a more defined West Coast flavour. Baslijn In Opstand does exactly what it says on the can, like the electronic music interface decided to stop obeying and took over the controls to produce the music it favours. All this music is not for the faint hearted but will prove an incredible addition to anyones dance floor arsenal for those moments which need some extra psycholetric firepower.

We are proud to welcome Fear-E @fear-e for his Dark Entries debut ‘Grey Skies In A Dear Green Place’ out February 28th. Fear-E is the moniker of Scott McKay a Glasgow based DJ and producer. Scott has already made a name for himself as one of Glasgow’s most technically-gifted and diverse selectors over the past decade. Then a slew of releases on the home-grown Dixon Avenue Basement Jams and Super Rhythm Trax introduced Fear-E, equally skilled studio operator, to the world. 
‘Grey Skies In A Dear Green Place’ contains six club-ready tracks to “smash sound systems and illuminate sweaty warehouses.” The title is a reference to a nickname that Glasgow has, coming from Cumbric, means 'green hollow' or (dear) 'green place'. Layering cut-up vocals with warm thumping beats, Scott creates a stripped-back yet deeply jackin’ vibe. Call these tracks what you will, “acid attacks”, “club destroyers”, “pickle ticklers?!” All songs have been mastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. For the cover, Scott commissioned legendary Detroit illustrator Alan Oldham, who’s artwork has graced established an identity for Transmat and DJAX-UP-BEATS, to create a futuristic portrait of Glasgow in black & white and with green kryptonite flourishes by Eloise Leigh.

It’s time for a new Cod3 QR!

This intriguing label has been picking up fans and Press accolades across the globe (like Tsugi magazine’s “Label of the Month” and regularly high-scoring reviews from Mixmag) with its fresh approach to record label releasing – putting the music upfront and only revealing the artists at a later date. So far, previous tracks have been revealed to be by the likes of Agents of Time, Francois V, Sagitario aka Juan Sanchez, Galaxy Lane, Jabbar, Joe Farr, Manuel-M, R.O.S.H and more.

The label’s mission statement:

…Music is our sole driving force. Eclecticism, open-mindedness, divergence and non-conformity are the values we cherish. To achieve this, 3 or 4 artists from different musical backgrounds will come together on each release.

All of our artists, whether known or unknown, will work under a secret code name so that their true identities remain out of the public domain to avoid any preconceived ideas or a particular bias. By doing this, the music will always come first. Each release will be identified by a simple QR code, which, when flashed, will take you to a web page that will give, among other things, the artist's code name.

In the current market, most digital and vinyl sales occur over an average period of 2 months. Once this time period has elapsed, the true identity of each artist (if they wish) will finally be revealed on our web site. It is only then, two months after the release that the artists will be allowed to start communicating.

Contrary to the usual practice, COD3 QR will search out artists rather than the other way around, so it won't be possible to send us music. The founders of COD3 QR will also remain anonymous because their identities must not affect the image, expectations or perception of the label. To ensure anonymity, all of our artists will sign a contract agreeing to keep silent or be economical with the truth about the identity of those behind the label and the artists.

The music alone will be the reason why we sign an artist, and we want music to be the only reason for people to take an interest and engage with the label. For this to succeed, we must remain free of all expectations and all prejudices because only one thing counts: the music, The Music, THE MUSIC in every shape and form!
