We have combined an interview and a mixtape today, both from one of Holland's most promising talents. He's 23 years young, born and raised in Amsterdam and understands our capitals nightlife like no other. He has made huge leaps forward in his musical career the last couple of months. He just got back from a mini tour in the States. During ADE '13 he will be playing alongside Maceo Plex, Tale of Us, Danny Daze and Tennis at 'Audio Obscura: Ellum and Life & Death Showcase'. Of which the latter he is now part-time label manager for. And he's only been DJ'ing actively for little more than a year. Job Jobse is his name, and he's been showing up on our radar more and more, so it’s time to get to know more about this homegrown artist. I had a nice and extensive talk with him, discussing his work at club Trouw, obsessive female fans and the future of deep house. Next to an interview, this article will also feature Job's mixtape for Deep House Amsterdam. It's very sexy and deep, perfect for this Friday afternoon.

Our second mix this week comes from the Leipzig-born Good Guy Mikesh. We will find out if he's actually that good of a guy next week, but what we do know is that his music kicks ass. His latest EP is about to be released on Ellum coming Monday, and he's had earlier successes on Compuphonic, The Exquisite Pain Recordings, Dirt Crew Recordings, Riotvan and We Love This. 

Over the last couple of years and in the circles he was operating in, Mikesh has grown to be somewhat of a prodigy. He’s known to be the guy with the perfect pitch, as the variable, precisely arranging, forward thinking and still quite casual producer, that drops one sure shot after the other. You could’ve called him Leipzig’s Timberlake, a virtuoso of a, let’s say: debonair arrogation, to not let parochial narrow mindedness get in the way of his Pop-vision.

He was performing live a lot, mostly just him. He was building up a solid 12”-discography joining forces with his DJ-partner Filburt. A backcatalogue including reputable landmarks like Permanent Vacation, Liebe*Detail or Mirau. He could’ve chosen the easy way from this point on. He could’ve taken his insights into Space Disco and House and produce himself into the Decks-charts, entertaining some dancefloors every two or three days. But that just wouldn’t be enough. Every move Mikesh makes is about Popmusic. Not for the self-purpose of the big gesture, but the devoted handling of this universal language’s rules. A language, Mikesh is beginning to speak flawlessly, in all dialects you could imagine, be it R’n’B, Disco or New Wave.

So next week we've got him lined up for Subfix, where he will be entertaining alongside a mystery guest and the very talented Nuno Dos Santos who has a love affair with deep house and melodic techno. These sonic artisans put together will make for a very special night in Beatclub, which we are very much looking forward to.

Sandrien is known for her versatile take on techno and igniting dancefloors all around the world from Japan, to Georgia to Berlin and of course Amsterdam, where she was a former resident of the legendary Amsterdam venues De School and its predecessor Trouw. In 2022 Sandrien set the dance floor of Monument Festival ablaze and here now for MNMT 447 she lays down another outstanding mix.

Excited to share episode 5 where Debbie invited Dwaalgast for the Digital High series.

Dwaalgast, a new alias by Nuno Dos Santos. Nuno started this project back in 2020 with the aim of exploring ambient, gritty electronica, breaks, sound collages, and everything in between. Curious about the name Dwaalgast? It came to me while reading a book about animals, particularly birds. I think it suits the project very well and has a dual meaning. "Dwaalgast" refers to a rare animal that is observed outside its usual habitat. This can include marine mammals, bats, insects, but it's most commonly associated with birds. Also Dwalen in Dutch means "to wander" or "to stray."

For this episode Debbie made a mix inspired on the concept of Dwaalgast which is very close to her own conceptual ideas. You will hear that in the 1st hour. 

In the 2nd hour Dwaalgast takes over and will take you on his journey which will not disappoint.
