One of the most loved names on the Australian dance music scene, Kasey Taylor made his mark in his hometown of Melbourne before John Digweed scouted him in the mid- nineties to play at his infamous Bedrock night in London. That was the catalyst for Taylor to take his sound to a global audience, leading to international exposure and a permanent move to Portugal to satiate the demands of his worldwide bookings. Currently, he is the creative power behind no less than three record labels. That includes the highly revered Vapour Recordings, the 23-year old mainstay which is over 150 releases deep, and the off-shoot imprint eVapour8, which topped the Beatport charts with its very first release. The most recent addition to his portfolio is Lo-Fi 45, which has seen Kasey take on a mentor role to use his years of experience to identify, sign and nurture local Australian talent. 2019 is a year of change for Kasey, not only is he experiencing a personal and creative renaissance, but he is initiating a complete rebrand across the board. His Vapour Recordings has just gone through a revamp which will include a new online portal. That will also coincide with an exciting release roster of new music that is already creating excitement with some of the scene’s biggest players. Originally released at the end of 2022, “EXT 135 / Elemental / Time to Space” showcased GMJ & Matter as masters of the progressive house genre. Now, Meanwhile revisits the 3-track EP with a trio of outstanding new remixes.

Henri Hurtig has been at the vanguard of modern underground dance music for close to two decades with his Cid Inc. production alter-ego. Some 600+ production credits for the likes of microCastle, Lost & Found and his own highly respected, Replug, are testament to an enduring appeal as is a packed tour calendar where the Finnish star continues to tour the world. Now making his Meanwhile debut, the Cid Inc. remix of “Elemental” retains a similar rhythmic poise to the original as a familiar bass pattern blends with a squeaking, bleeping effects layer. A trademark storming beat and seething dancefloor character is in full evidence as a distorted and frenetic breakdown leads to a new melodic character in the second half to brilliant effect. The result is a typically impressive reworking full of dynamism and brio.

A rising star in the progressive firmament since early work for EIN2 in 2018, Tantum has hit considerable heights with his music on Juicebox Music, Mango Alley and Guy J’s Lost & Found. A Meanwhile debut in mid-2023 saw “Secondary / Suan Pan / Narko” place the German star front and centre with a musical triptych of the highest order, as Tantum now returns with a deep and innovative take on “Time to Space”. Replete with rolling groove and deep bassline presence, a more stripped back offering allows the central motif from the original a chance to flourish within a new cadenced structure, while richly textured pads flow effortlessly across the musical stream. Rising and falling in easy patterns, a new arpeggiated pattern makes itself heard alongside a raft of additional production material and counterpoint melodies as the remix heads towards a rousing finale.

Reworking “EXT 135” themselves, Meanwhile head honchos, GMJ & Matter have given the track a sublime “Ambient Reprise”. Stripping away the powerful rhythmic backdrop of the original, the duo have created a sublime interpretation that captures the central melodic elements of the original, allowing them to blossom unencumbered by dancefloor character. The result is a chorus of deliciously crafted keynotes and melodies that blend together in seamless fashion, held together by a deep sub-bass groove. The result is a smooth and pristine slice of electronica magic.

Shining once more through remixes from Cid Inc. and Tantum, GMJ & Matter have given a new lease of life to “EXT 135 / Elemental / Time to Space”.

Plaisirs Sonores Records proudly announces the release of the 'Shining EP' by prolific DJ/ producer D-Nox and Sharon Graziani, with a captivating remix by label founders Hicky & Kalo. This new release will be available on all major platforms from August 25th, 2023.

D-Nox, a DJ Awards winner with a career spanning over 30 years in electronic music, teams up with sound engineer and music producer Sharon Graziani for a rolling progressive house original 'Shining.' It features atmospheric synths, catchy melodies, and trancy-ish vocals that create an entrancing sonic journey. The synergy between D-Nox's seasoned musical artistry and Graziani's adept production expertise shines through in the track's remarkable depth and dynamism.

Complementing the original, label founders Hicky & Kalo take the track on a darker ride with their remix. This version of 'Shining' emphasizes the strong melody, adding a hefty kick and edgy vibe, transforming it into a peak-time dancefloor weapon. 

Hicky & Kalo shared their experience, stating: "We've played this track a few times with great success. It always works so well in a club setting. The reception has been incredible, and we are excited for the wider audience to hear this."

D-Nox's illustrious career is notable for his international bookings and his exceptionally outstanding success in Brazil, where he commands a significant fanbase. Starting his musical journey in the early 90s, he became a significant figure in his hometown's music scene, Düsseldorf. He further cemented his mark in the industry by being one half of the duo D-Nox & Beckers. The duo has been releasing hits on prestigious labels such as Bedrock, Suara, and Sudbeat since 2004, in addition to D-Nox's own label, Sprout Music.

Sharon Graziani, the founder of Shagra Recordings, brings a wealth of experience from various projects like Monolock Music and Sandokan Music. His influences range from classic music and ethnic beats to the rhythms of nature, contributing a unique flavor to the 'Shining EP.'

The 'Shining EP' is a testament to the relentless pursuit of creating music that not only resonates with listeners but also pushes the boundaries of progressive house music. It is a significant addition to Plaisirs Sonores Records' growing catalogue and represents the label's ethos of delivering driving yet emotionally rich music.
