Banda post punk/new wave con base en Tenerife, influenciada por el sonido de los 80´s - 90´s e inspirado en el sonido Manchester.
David Cuesta, guitarra, vocalista y excomponente de Oblique, inicia y produce este proyecto desde Barcelona. Establecido actualmente en Tenerife, de donde es originario, se encuentra produciendo este trabajo junto a Marcos Hernández (bajista), Enrique Dâlu (Batería) y Dayana Febles (Synth) que se unen posteriormente a la banda.

Based in Tenerife, The WEEIRD is a post punk/ new wave that takes their cues from the 80 ´s and 90´s bands, british – influenced with a touch of what it is known as Manchester Sound ( Joy Division, New Order, Stone Roses) as it can be perceived in the dark atmospherics in their songs.

David Cuesta, (former member of Oblique) frontman guitar, starts and creates this project firstly in Barcelona. Now settled down in the island, his homeland, is now producing this LP together with Marcos Hernandez (bass), Enrique Dâlu (drums) & Dayana Febles (Synth) who has recently joined the band.

ACTIVIDAD SOBRESALIENTE

Ha participado como opening act de bandas como Dragonforce, Textures, Sabaton, Septicflesh, Vision Divine, Veil of Maya, Soilwork, Joe Stump y Pablo Soler.

También ha participado en festivales como el Wild Metal Fest con bandas como DRI, Tristania, Keep of Kalessin, Toxic Holocaust, Blood Red Throne , Prog-Fest México 2010 y 2011, Batalla Wacken México 2012 y 2013.

Ganadores del segundo lugar en el concurso “Rock Olympus 2009” cuya final se realizó en el Circo Volador con lo cual la banda ganó el derecho de abrir el concierto de Dragonforce en el escenario principal del Circo Volador el 14 de Noviembre de 2009.

Ganadores concurso “Rockeando en Finlandia 2010” organizado por la embajada de Finlandia y Conaculta, ganando el derecho de viajar a este país en noviembre del 2010 para mostrar su proyecto.

Ganadores de la votación nacional como la mejor banda a participar en el Festival Wild Metal Fest 2011 celebrado el 3 y 4 de junio en Cancún, México.
