Rising UK-talent Guy Mac makes a much-anticipated debut on Hot Creations in January with the Sonic Boom EP. Made up of three original tracks, the release acts as both Guy’s and the label’s inaugural release of 2022.

Guy discussed how the EP came to fruition, stating: “Sonic Boom was the result of a late-night studio session in lockdown 2020, experimenting with different sounds. The inspiration was to create something with the euphoric energy we were missing out on, given that clubs were shut at the time. Massive thanks to Jamie Jones, Lee Foss, and everyone at the label for the opportunity.”

The title track kicks off proceedings in an outright party fashion, as rampant kicks lay beneath up-tempo hats to set the tone. Reverberating vocals bounce alongside driving synth lines, before we’re soon graced with the stripped-back sounds of Waku Waku. Tribal-laced percussion opens into pulsing, space-like samples, whilst the enthralling chant of “waku waku” shimmers softly throughout. Rounding off the EP is Don’t Stop, another no-nonsense, late-night cut packed full of 4x4 drum patterns that perfectly encapsulates Guy’s hard-hitting, club-ready sound.

An artist making continuous strides in the house and techno space, London-based DJ and producer Guy Mac is an exponential contender for most, if not all, ‘ones to watch in 2022’ shortlists. His work has found a home on some of the industry’s best-known labels such as Sola Nauts, Under No Illusion, Armada Subjekt, Glasgow Underground, SK Recordings and more. Outside of the studio, Guy has also made a significant impact on his clubland presence, with bookings at Ministry of Sound, Egg London, ADE and Miami Music Week parties representing a handful of his most notable highlights.

Bobby Shann makes his Hottrax debut this summer with ‘Turn It Up’. 

Known for his hip-hop influenced house material, Bobby Shann’s productions have been supported by heavy-hitters such as Joseph Capriati, Loco Dice and Michael Bibi. Now, Shann makes a sizzling first outing on Jamie Jones’ Hottrax label with his new release ‘Turn It Up’. 

Bouncy lead track ‘Turn It Up’ infuses Middle Eastern inspired harmonies with timely bleeps and claps, before the punchy ‘Hard Feelings’ harnesses driving basslines, snaking percussion and the enticing vocals of Nicole Dash Jones in this sultry cut.

Through its sonic narrative, the release explores diverse shades of progressive house, featuring remixes by Tali Muss @talimuss , Sunchain @sunchainmusic , and 8PAJ2 @pajproduction  —three rising talents in the global underground scene.

The original mix of Jackelele is a vibrant anthem, driven by a captivating rhythmic structure, African vocal elements, and organic instruments woven seamlessly with modern electronic textures. Tali Muss enhances the groove with a more direct, club-friendly approach, while staying true to the original spirit. Sunchain takes the track into a more organic and immersive direction, rich in tribal percussion and deep atmospheres. 8PAJ2 delivers a more powerful interpretation—still progressive, but with melodic techno undertones and the kind of intensity that suits peak-time sets.

“Jackelele” is a sonic journey that bridges tribal roots and contemporary dancefloor aesthetics—ideal for energy-filled DJ sets. A new testament to Univack’s ongoing commitment to emotional depth and musical quality within the Melodic & Progressive House universe.

Longstanding house duo Prok | Fitch make a much-anticipated debut on Hot Creations with Tease. The two-track EP sees them collaborate with London vocalist Kyozo and continues a stunning 2020 that has seen them release on Repopulate Mars and Solid Grooves already this year.

That natural connection is clear from the start, as the straight-up Tease Feat. Kyozo quickly gets the EP underway. A swinging 4x4 bassline powers alongside punchy drums, before Kyozo’s lyrical solo adds an infectious energy to the track’s choppy underlying rhythm. Smack showcases a stripped-back, dubby approach as rounded kicks blend into minimal-leaning bleeps, whilst an echoing vocal repeats “smack” to take us straight through to peak-time dancing territory. One of contemporary house music’s most-established pairings, Prok | Fitch continue to carve out an impressive standing in the electronic music sphere.
