Since his first release on Ultimae's Fahrenheit Project compilation in 2001, French electronic music artist Alexandre Scheffer has been making quite a name for himself under his alias Cell with many compilation features, a first album with Indica and several live digital recordings.

[ Hanging Masses ] is an elegant and stylish album in which the various components flow together smoothly as part of carefully crafted compositions. Cell infuses his music with warm melodic bass lines, overlapping pads and gentles pulses creating a sense of perpetual motion.

The album is made of 8 long tracks and features a collaboration with Vincent Villuis aka AES Dana on 'Switch Off'. Created with a wide array of composition tools, from the old analog synthesizers to the state of the art of new technologies,

[ Hanging Masses ] delivers rich and ample soundscapes and constitutes in the artist's heart a homage to Brian Eno, Tangerine Dream, Steve Reich.

This live act by Vladislav Isaev, aka Scann-Tec was performed and recorded at the Morpheus Lounge and mastered for a better sound quality in the Ultimae studio. It presents a couple of revisited well-known tracks from the Russian artist as well as plenty of new music in his typical hypnotic downtempo style. 

The Nuit Hypnotique 4 event took place on 12th March 2011 at la Filature in Mulhouse. Previous editions were set at Les Dominicains de Haute Alsace in Guebwiller but we quickly reached the space limit so Les Dominicains partnered with La Filature to organise the 4th event in their venue within the frame of their Tran(s)e Festival. The Audience was invited to apprehend music in 3 physical positions, lying, sitting, standing. 

Ultimae presented live acts and DJ sets by AES Dana, Solar Fields and Krister Linder, Circular, Carbon Based Lifeforms with their two singers Karin and Ester, H.U.V.A. Network, Laurent Chanal, Scann-Tec, Tajmahal, SYNC24 and Hol Baumann with a background of video projections by Dave Arc-I and Harriett Cavanagh.

A new chapter in the Oxycanta series of compilations by French Dj and arranger Mahiane featuring tracks by artists who are emerging at the forefront of the ambient scene as well as pathfinders in the genre. 

Throughout Oxycanta III the sound spectrum reaches wide arrays of deep bass all the way to the high-pitched resonances to display many of the DJ’s musical influences while, with a keen sense of float, she blends IDM, downtempo and neo-classical with a hint of atmospheric electronica, and a dash of dub. 
Driven by her passion for music and nature, Mahiane titled her collection Oxycanta as a tribute to Crataegus Oxyacantha, a species of Northern European Hawthorn dear to old time herbalists.

"Gentle Movement" is the outcome of an improvised musical endeavour between ourselves and our good friend, sax player Kjetil Möster. A long time Röyksopp-collaborator, Mr. Möster has featured on several of our releases & he's done multiple shows with us in the past. If you ever detect a woodwind-sound on a Röyksopp track, it's likely that Kjetil's the provider. As for the track itself, the title really says it all.
