Oliver Smith, Above & Beyond’s first signing to Anjunabeats, reunites with Natalie Holmes on ‘Borderline’.

One of the label’s most consistent contributors, Oliver Smith has appeared on every one of Above & Beyond’s “Volume” compilations to date. ‘Borderline’ has been played by Oli in his DJ sets for the last four years, and finally gets a release in 2022 as Anjunabeats’ first record of the new year. 

British singer/songwriter Natalie Holmes returns to Anjunabeats after a three year hiatus. Originally appearing alongside Above & Beyond on their Acoustic II tour, Natalie soon teamed up with Oli to record their 2018 collaboration ‘Zero’. She has since released a string of successful singles, including ‘Strangers’ and ‘Doubt You’ with renowned bass producers Cadmium and Rival.

Debuted in her Group Therapy 450 set, London’s Amy Wiles collaborates with Matt Fax and Mirror Machines on ‘Remind Me Why’.

Amy Wiles started her DJ career at 16, and has played for us at Group Therapy 450, Tomorrowland, Creamfields, The Warehouse Project and at Anjunabeats club nights across London. Her debut single ‘Biding Time’ was released in June 2021 as part of the Anjunabeats Rising series, and she’s remixed Above & Beyond, Kyau & Albert, Farius and gardenstate. You can catch Amy at our upcoming Night Tales showcase on March 18, and at The Gorge in July.

French producer David Ciekanski (aka Matt Fax) has been releasing music since the age of 15. In 2013, he provided a timeless remix of Jaytech’s ‘Labour Of Love’ and landed his first Guest Mix on Group Therapy. Since then, David has gone from strength to strength on labels such as Enhanced, Colorize, AVA Recordings and This Never Happened, releasing two artist albums and contributing to Colorize’s ‘Colorscapes’ mix compilation series.

Mirror Machines are U.S. production duo Jeremy Dawson and Chad Petree. They caught the attention of Lane 8 in 2021, releasing the ‘Pray For Rain EP’ on his This Never Happened imprint and featuring in several of his seasonal mixtapes. Jeremy and Chad were previously members of indie electronic outfit Shiny Toy Guns – their album ‘We Are Pilots’ received a GRAMMY Award nomination in 2007 for Best Electronic / Dance Album.

“I was working on some original material during lockdown. I posted an idea to my Instagram when Matt Fax dropped into my DM’s. I knew the idea wasn’t quite finished and that it was lacking something, so I asked if he would be down to collab on it and that’s how it became a collaboration.

At the same time, I had been recently chatting to Jeremy and Chad from Mirror Machines. It was slightly surreal when I received the top line from them, as my dad originally got me into Shiny Toy Guns when I was a kid. It’s also a great moment for me working with Matt Fax, having previously worked with him for years as Marketing Manager at Enhanced Music. Fan favourite Jaytech remixes Nourey & FOSTER’s ‘Meant To Be’, out now on Anjunabeats.

Egyptian-born, Boston-based musician Nourey is a rising star on the label. First picking up the guitar at ten years old, Nourey turned to music production; releasing on Elliptical Sun Recordings and AVA. Her unique blend of trance, house and jazz caught the ear of Above & Beyond, who played her debut single 'Skylar' on Group Therapy Radio in 2019. She soon crossed over to Anjunabeats, remixing Gabriel & Dresden and releasing 'In Motion' (with OLAN) and 'All Night' (with ZOYA). 

Last year, Nourey made her live debut at Above & Beyond’s Group Therapy Weekender festival in July 2022, earned a coveted spot on 1001Tracklist’s ‘Future Of Dance’ music in 2022, and dropped her debut EP on Anjunabeats, the ‘Meant To Be EP’. 

The five-track EP showcases Nourey’s diverse sound and influences, spanning progressive trance, ambient, deep house and breakbeat. Las Vegas-based singer/songwriter FOSTER also features, lending her vocals to ‘Meant To Be’ and ‘Free’.

Alongside her music career, Nourey is also a postdoctoral research fellow and manager of the Climate Change and Cities Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She’s worked closely with AnjunaHQ on sustainability initiatives, including at Group Therapy Weekender, and has multiple academic awards and honours for her research. 

With over 40 releases across Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, Jaytech (or ‘Jimbo’ as we affectionately know him) is a long-term friend of the Anjunafamily. He honed his ear as a label A&R for Anjuna HQ in the late 2000s. Now, he’s unearthing new talent on his long-running Jaytech Music mix show and sharing his wealth of production experience on YouTube. 

Jaytech has long been a part of the fabric of Anjunabeats - he has toured globally with A&B and was a studio engineer for the label. He has since gone to play Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo and more.
