The Brvtalist is pleased to premiere a new track from Second Spectre. "Smuggler" comes off the forthcoming compilation Hostile Responses & Provocations Vol. 2. Following up on the first installment, England's Depth.Request returns for another massive comp featuring some of the best producers operating today across the industrial, post-techno spectrums. Ominous, suspenseful, and resonant of sound one would expect to find on a score to a handsomely budgeted techno-thriller, majority of Second Spectre's Smuggler is set in halftime tempo, corrosive bassline and eroded toms being its main stand-outs, with choral drones, sandy hats and tumbling low-range drums adding to the portrayal of a distinctly dystopian plot with doubtful prospects of a happy ending over the sunless horizon.

Kanal Nula is the solo moniker of Puppy Tapes, Anti State Electronics and Mineral Resource label head DJ Valentimes. Upon the inception of Mineral Resource in 2020, Kanal Nula released two seminal pieces of heavy, nauseating, drone and rhythmic noise recordings before entering a 3 year hiatus.

Kanal Nula’s return comes this spring with “Phase”, his first full length CD on Mineral Resource. He presents a series of evolving recordings and experiments utilizing improvisational manipulation, replicative synthesis, and live preparation of found recordings of aero and automotive systems. Patient assembly and prepared composition melts gritty, rhythmic ambient movements into chaotic moments of cut up stuttering, back into pulsing oscillations of 757’s and natural drones.

Kanal Nula goes on tour this June & July, making a UK debut, EU dates in Oslo, Den Haag and ending at Summer Scum in New York.

SUBSTENCIA
Substencia is a musician, producer and DJ based in Paris. Her music-loving background soon led her to get involved in the electronic scene in various forms: labels, webzines, and event organization. Since 2017, she has been creating dark industrial techno music productions, infused with a lot of cinematics, collages, noise, released on with several EP's, compilations and remixes on labels as Instinkt, Coup, Subverted, Culture of Violence, Durch, Drec, or Swedish label Kallkällan where she released in 2022 her third EP supported by many international artists. Highly personal and instinctive, her approach to music has developed over the years through constant practice and listening. Pure industrial music, dark ambient, neofolk, 90’s techno and baroque music: her many influences give to her DJ sets a cinematic, organic and intense dimension.
She has played all over France at parties and festivals such as Château Perché, FIFIB, and in clubs all over Europe as Elipamanoke in Leipzig or Moog in Barcelona. 
Since 2021, she has been part of the post-industrial noise duo Kabocha, who have released their first EP, “Human Exceptionalism”, on their own label in April 2023 and started performing live.As a resident DJ at the Monarch nights and in “Rave Up” radio show on Radio FG with a monthly residency, she is known for her intense, cinematic sets that features a highly personal approach to music thanks to her multiple influences: pure industrial music, noise, dark ambient, UK old school techno and even baroque music.

Robert Sipos (Noisesculptor Aka ROBotron), born 1974, first met techno at the end of the 90s; initially visited clubs, parties, absorbed the music and listened. Almost became a second home to the 1999 opening Supersonic Technikum, and related techno events. Those important and noteworthy for his professional life were DJ Grega, who unwittingly pointed the way towards techno, and Mixer Smith, who gave the first major technical equipment.

Noisesculptor is unbroken since its inception, representative of this line which is not exactly popular: techno primarily within industrial and dark line moving - doggedly trying to stay underground, as far as possible these days... In addition to mixing the music, editing really is what fascinated him, looking and researching new sound. His music is both modern and ancient: from the era when music was born instinct, sounds, feelings...

Several publishers discussed - and discuss today. In 2011, Robert appeared on Mixer Smith's tel joint debut album, titled "General Effect", which is now the well-known not only in Europe but also in many countries of the world (Japan, USA), and appeared on the popular www.audioexit.com label. Subsequently began to draw attention to it in the domestic and international trade: the requests were mixes, radio shows. His first solo album (Structures) marked with the names of Exigent (Perlei Imre) was released on Paradise Gate Records. On the European level, he is well known as a contributor / radio of the Art Style: Techno - Underground Techno magazine. His work has been featured on various compilation discs, and well-known DJs and producers like to use them for their mixes.
