Solid Grooves drop their latest Summer Sampler to close August as Michael Bibi and PAWSA invite a selection of the scene’s finest to deliver the label’s 2021 instalment.

An annual fixture in the calendar for many, Solid Grooves’ summer Various Artist offering welcomes a project showcasing a UK label at the forefront of the scene. Having recently returned as a family across sold out shows in London and Bristol, late August welcomes this year’s highly-anticipated drop from a wealth of SG favourites and close friends.

Offering up a combination of up-front and more minimal-leaning productions, co-founders Michael Bibi and PAWSA step out alongside residents Bassel Darwish, Blackchild (ITA), Eddy M, Ramin Rezaie and Reelow, plus 2021 guests Carloh, Detlef and Wheats, to deliver a ten track package you won’t want to sleep on.

Ramin Rezaie returns to Solid Grooves sister imprint Solid Grooves Raw with 'Lucid Dreaming'.

A favourite amongst the Solid Grooves family and an individual at the heart of the imprint under his role as label manager, Ramin Rezaie keeps delivering inside the booth and in the studio as he shapes his clean-cut sound as a DJ and producer on the rise. Having launched his own label Silky Records to open 2022, May sees a welcome return to Solid Grooves Raw as he turns in fresh heat with 'Lucid Dreaming'.

Harnessing his trademark rubbery basslines amongst slick percussion, bright stabs and hypnotic, hazy vocal interjections, 'Lucid Dreaming' delivers yet another early hours roller from the label regular as he continues his ongoing hot streak.

Label favourite JUST2 returns to Solid Grooves raw as he unveils his latest single, 'Lollipops'. 

When looking at the evolution of Solid Grooves Raw since its inception in 2017, it's clear that certain artists have a sound that fits perfectly. and one of those artists is Romania's JUST2. Cementing his position as a favourite on the label, with four outings to date taking in both solo and collaborative cuts alongside partner-in-crime Luca M, the DJ/producer and Hearoes label boss is back with yet more dancefloor ammunition as he returns to close out September with his new single, 'Lollipops'.

Landing with his trademark low-end sound, 'Lollipops' is a slick track merging punchy kicks with warping bass licks and zipping synths, all topped off with a selection of well-worked, hooky vocal samples throughout.

Amsterdam's Jesse van der Heijden and Oguzhan Guney have been on an impressive upwards trajectory since debuting on Defected's breakout label DFTD two years ago, with follow up appearances on Snatch! Records, Material and AVOTRE, not to mention launching their own label NO ART. 

Joining Michael Bibi and PAWSA's Solid Grooves Records, home to artists like Dennis Cruz, Leftwing & Kody, Reelow and Franz Costa, the fast-rising pair continue to raise the bar with two more inspired tracks. 

Featuring stuttering percussion and rumbling bass, 'Human' is built on a compelling groove whilst whirring synths and otherworldly effects complete the esoteric production. Rolling drums and echoing atmospherics then form 'No Enemies' as a rumbling low-end and spoken word sample resonate throughout the mix.
