Microcosmos Records proudly presents “Type 1 Civilization,” the debut chill-out album from electronic music producer Noraus.

Many years ago the Russian scientist Kardashev defined three levels of civilization, based on the amount of energy a civilization is able to utilize.

A Type 1 civilization is able to utilize the energy that reaches its planet from a neighboring star, a Type 2 civilization can harness the energy of the entire neighboring star and a Type 3 civilization controls energy on the scale of its entire host galaxy.

Humanity is not even Type 1 yet. Reaching Type 1 is our way to prosperity.

This album could be a soundtrack for human evolution through technological progress.

Noraus immerses multilayered atmospheric soundscapes into warm fuzzy radio noise, positive emotions, computer signals and songs of the stars. And that ambient can be groovy! Space. Dark, cold and empty void between the stars. Despite all the space explorations, we still know nothing about it. What are quasars, actually? How can we travel to another galaxy? Why the universe is expanding? Are there any other civilizations or we are alone in the space? We don't have the answers yet. But one day humanty will explore the unknown sector of space!

Astronaut Ape is a guy in the orange space suit. He do ambient and chill-out gigs for last 5 years and got fans on every continent of planet Earth. Once he became an expert in proper mood flow at chill space of any size. Try what he has to offer on his 5th album!

Warm cosmic melodies topped up with radio transmissions, computer noises and slow pulsating rhythm. They teleport us right into the spaceship. Mahaon is Alexey Baranov from Izhevsk, an electronic artist with a background in electronic and rock music. The spiritual experience led him to psychedelic chillout music and culture. 

Groovy and hypnotic, this is chill-out with unusual energy and flow. Expect everything: soft synths, dub rhythms, mantras, broken beats, pulsating basslines, ethereal melodies and even a live guitar!

Mahaon - Gnomes From Mercury

This set was played on Sunday morning, well actually this is not the entire set, and I re-recorded it. I had computer troubles which necessitated using someone else's laptop - thank-you Ant Nebula and Alaya Sounds for your quick thinking and problem solving awesomeness.

The sun was shining, the water was kissed with the slightest of breezes that rippled the water 'just-so', the dancer danced, and the painter painted. It was the realisation of a dream; to provide the sonic backdrop for the creation of art and connection.

This was one of the first few tracks I tried out my custom multisampled guitar.
With my PRS baritone guitar, I recorded one octave with 4 articulations, then imported
the samples into Ableton Lives' Sampler. Then for the big drum kit, 
I just used the Damage Library from Heavyocity. 
Then I added some synth parts using my KORG EMX.
