The GAB mix series is back for another year! And who better to kick things off than the King of Electro, Shawn Cartier. 

Over the last year, Shawn’s prolific output, both in terms of production and DJing, has allowed him to ascend rapidly through the contemporary electro scene. With releases on Carouse, Mind Controlled Rectifier, Paradiso Records, Haŵs, Bogoture Records, Kouncil Cuts, Reality Club, Night Service, Nasty Enterprises and of course two physicals on childsplay, Shawn seems simply unstoppable. Somehow, he’s also managed to find the time to guest on Rinse, Kindred, Balamii, Ape-X, Threads, Action Replay Codes and many other platforms. 

Kicking off GAB MIX 051 with a trance groover, Shawn dips into his UKG and breaks bag, taking a turn towards more experimental club sounds towards the half-way mark. Things quickly turn gritty as Shawn expertly blends his own unreleased acid belters with euphoric squelchers from Popmix and breakbeats from Sansibar and Detroit’s Filthiest.

As we commence our birthday celebrations this Friday, we bring you an APECAST from a genuine rising star. @ohmydais_dj burst out of the post-lockdown blocks and has fast become one to watch in 2022. Check out our interview with her over on Instagram. 

Daisy is a prime example of an artist that didn't snooze during the lockdown, with several energetic live stream performances on @rinsestagram, @fold.ldn and @threadsradio. 

The now London-based artist carries out up-tempo, club-focused, bass fuelled madness and we can't get enough of it. You will be instantly engaged with her electrifying approach to track selection and tight mixing ability. 

This year is set up to be a stormer for the young DJ, with multiple gigs locked in across the country. So keep your eyes peeled and lock into this mix.

OS Premiere: SDS MAX  - Box In The Lip [HEFTY BRUISES]

Today marks 1 year since we posted our first guest mix. Big love to @arfasounds for taking the time and launching this platform with us 12 months ago 💜

To switch it up a little from the usual, we’re moving away from our recent UKG mixes this week to bring a wild genre mashup from the man like @nova_cheq 🔥 

Nova Cheq has come through with a heavy 100 - 130 mix that moves through multiple sonics and levels of energy. The selections move from industrial to grime, to dancehall and funky. Plus with a few wild cards throw into the bag, this one is unlike anything we’ve dropped before. As always with SOLITUDE mixes, there’s a few unreleased tunes here. This time from @djspit.to’s label @rascals_030. Expect these tracks to get pressed with @hardwax_official as well. Mark of quality each and every time. 

He’s an artist who resides in the more hardcore side of the scene, capable of brewing up proper party fuel. Legit his sets are always fuckin wild. Not often for the faint hearted, his music transcends most style brackets and is often a representation of his musical influences over the years, with nods to the original 90’s rave scene, jungle, breaks and techno.

Deffo check his release that just dropped on @sherelle_ & @naina_ldn’s label @hooversoundrec. It’s a combined force with @samurai_breaks. Five outrageously good pieces of work referred to as “Pure Party Fuel, Ghetto House Styled Jungle-Juke Pounders” - these one will smash up the dance 100% 

He’s also had a solo release on Hoover Sound that dropped in May last year. Absolutely worth checking, 5 more stompers with the title track FUK.GOV.UK doing what it says on the tin in hard dance party music format 🔥
