We’re extremely proud to present the first edition of our SOLITUDE MIX SERIES. Curated by one of the most promising new names in the UKG scene, we introduce Arfa; the 19-year-old DJ/producer whose talent and flair for this music far surpasses his age.

Ahead of his debut EP ‘Freefall’ that releases on 3rd May, Arfa has blessed us with this selection. Moving from garage to jungle, the mix features unreleased music from himself and a host of other up and coming artists. We suggest you take some time to lock into the sounds of Arfa for SOLITUDE.

MIX SERIES: 001 / ARFA

Our second edition in the SOLITUDE MIX Series comes from the lab of DONSURF. 

This one is packed full of dubplates that are yet to see the light of day, so lock in and listen to some unreleased goodness. In the mix, DONSURF moves from melodic jazzy piano chords, all the way to gully UKG wobbles and bootlegs of classic R&B rhythms. Clean, crisp and funky; this one is for the heads.

MIX SERIES: 002 / DONSURF

Representing SOLITUDE for our third entry of the guest mix series, we bring you the man like M|CK. Emerging from Dublin, @mick_offcut is a founder of Offcut Dublin, a DJ collective who curate underground selections and nights over in Ireland. They launched their first event back in March 2020, but of course got put on pause over lockdown. Since then, they’ve kept it moving with their bi-weekly show on Phever TV and have got some events in the pipeline ready for when things fully settle down in IE 🇮🇪 


To keep in tune with the sounds of SOLITUDE, Mick recorded a punchy UKG mix with one of the sickest intros we’ve heard in a minute 📞  


This one oozes funk. Full of big two-steppers, melodic vocals and a healthy amount of sub-bass. Large up the Irish connections, we see ye ☘️

MIX SERIES: 003 / M|CK

Insurrect is a selector who resides on the darker side of the tracks. He’s always represented the music he loves, initially carving his path as a resident at the Crystal Clear DJ society in Hull (they’ve been holding it down for 14 years now…) He’s currently based out of Manchester and has been shelling in full force since he moved down. We’re gassed to have him as the mastermind behind the fourth entry of our guest mix series.

He isn’t one to shy away from the grimy sounds and nasty basslines we all screwface to. Having opened for some of the sickest names in UKG; Conducta, Higgo, Smokey and Wookie to name a few, we assure you his SOLITUDE guest mix is more than serious. In his own words “sometimes you’ve gotta get dark and wobbly.”

Don’t miss out on his residency shows at @subtleradio and UKG sets for @altoradio either. You can often hear him move through breaks, dubstep, UKG and electro with no stress. Hit play and get ready to bop your head to this one.

MIX SERIES: 004 / INSURRECT

Freddie Baker AKA BAKEY has got to be one of the most influential young producers this side of the scene. His releases have been featured by UK giants @mixmag-1, he has almost 15,000 monthly Spotify listeners and he’s been getting support from some of the biggest underground names out there for a while now; @skeptical, @bigflowdan and @e5izco to choose a few.

@bakeymusic isn’t locked to one genre, with his guest mix for SOLITUDE truly expressing his talent with some crazy blends, HUGE dubplates and a bunch of features from fellow music heads. He effortlessly experiments through styles and pulls out selections that on paper don’t sound like they’d work, but when in the mix they sound nothing short of incredible. You gotta hear it to believe it.

He’s also the brother of @breakaleeds who is killing it right now. The two of them have just released "Pro Perc" and "Club Dynamics" two super crisp pieces of production that feature on Breaka’s upcoming EP "Breaka 003" – You don’t want to miss that one. Talk about talent running in the family.

P.S We don’t want to say too much… but you will probably see BAKEY on a SOLITUDE line-up towards the end of the year...

Keeping it international this week, we’re gassed to drop an ultra headzy, proper heavyweight mix from Sydney based @akul_2050 🇦🇺 

If you’re into your 2-step garage and minimal heavy heaters, you probably already know about Akul. If not, now is a good time to learn 📚 Akul’s SOLITUDE mix marks the 37th entry to the series. It’s dark, rollin and fill to the brim with intricate drums, stripped back basslines and real steppy garage sounds for your listening pleasure.

He co-runs @finespunrecordings alongside @slambslambslamb and @bisouxsyd - these three are really representing the style of UKG that we love, it’s sick to see the Aussie crew killing it!

Akul has been a big part of Extra Spicy’s movements this year, including running set for a @keephushuk takeover in Sydney that looked unbelievably sick.

He’s been doing damage for a while
now, with consistent stellar releases dropping on the mighty @ec2a_, Australia based @extraspicy_syd and @bnh_records, plus a BADBOY forthcoming for Russian label @glbdom for their Spezial Series VA - that one drops on cassette and digital. You know we love sharing music from lesser known artists who deserve to be heard, and this week’s guest mix selector is no different. 

Welcoming @isaacfrost___ to the SOLITUDE guest mix series 🧊 

Firstly, swing over to @trihard_recs and check Frost’s latest release that dropped with them at the start of this month. Super stripped back heaviness, clean drums, deeeeep sub. Absolutely worth checking 🔊 Plus it’s a free DL - can’t pass that up 

This one is TIGHT and showcases some upcoming breaky bass-heavy UKG, breakbeat, rave n electro flavours. Of course featuring some unreleased stuff from a few icons in the underground sphere.

Frost is from South London but currently living in Leeds, as since doing so has been pushing his name out there super consistently. He’s recently formed the label @late.night.essentials, with their debut event in October selling out in advance. Nuff ratings for that! 

His journey into the production side of things has helped his exposure big time. Pair that with a string of packed out shows at some iconic venues like The Cause, Wire, Brixton Jamm, a debut festival performance at @kaleidoscope_festival and a @subtleradio residency and you can guarantee you’re gonna see his name pop up a lot throughout 2023

It’s always a blesssssed feeling to be able to highlight artists like Frost and we hope you enjoy this mix 💜
