Born in the dark streets of Cairo, grown to the unforgettable forests of Santa Esmeralda, spending its teen years in Bombay and Tangier markets, mature into the deep spacey Jungle of Ghana we proudly present you a new label from the land of the pyramids: SHANGO RECORDS invites you to an unheard world music psychedelic trip: like through a colorful kaleidoscope we will melt down Indian and Pakistani Vibes, Arab-Tek and Oriental groovy vibes, Afro-Beat rhythms n' pieces, Cumbia Tropicana flavors and cosmic Ghetto-Latin vibes into forbidden sounds of frenzied electronic dancefloor rituals. Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before.

A distant rhythmic chanting came to them through the hangings that separated them from the sietch corridors. It grew louder, carrying distinct sounds now: “Ya!Ya! Yawm! Ya! Ya! Yawm! Mu zein, wallah! Ya! Ya! Yawm! Mu zein, Wallah!” The chanters passed the outer entrance, and their voices boomed through to the inner apartments. Slowly the sound receded. When the sound had dimmed sufficiently, she began the ritual, the sadness in her voice: “It was Ramadhan and April on Bela Tegeuse.” “My family sat in their pool courtyard, ” she said, “in air bathed by the moisture that arose from the spray of a fountain. There was a tree of portyguls, round and deep in color, near at hand. There was a basket with mish mish and baklawa and mugs of liban— all manner of good things to eat. In our gardens and in our flocks, there was peace ... peace in all the land”. Darko De Jan comes with the first appearance of light in the sky before sunrise. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These two tracks can give you moments of becoming suddenly aware of something. 7even (GR), Think City and Elias Fassos & Risk (GR) are bringing the light into the dark night.

For our first release of 2022 Sol Selectas is proud to present the 3rd volume of our highly acclaimed Global Entry series. This compilation features 11 original songs, and explores genres like minimal, deep tech, and indie dance. Each song tells its own psychedelic story, fusing ethnic elements along with hints of disco, dub, and techno. 

We welcome 2 new female producers to the label, with “Canim” from Ece Ekran of Turkey, and “ Queen Wand” by Deenara from the Ukraine. Making their debut on Sol Selectas, we have Daschund and Quenum for the first time with “Reverse”, Clay Lio from Egypt with “La Terre Perle”, and Memo Rex from San Diego with “Tangible”.

The compilation also features music from well known Sol Selectas artists Derun, Namito, Hot Oasis, Golan Zocher & Choopie, Guy Mayaan, and KONI. 

Helia’s artwork takes us beyond time and space as we travel through the cosmic portal of music, the Global pathway to a higher consciousness.

Beon Deep & Oktave - Guarana [Shagara]

Following up to his epic tune from 2019, "Magneto", SVT alum Nhii surfaces this spring on A Tribe Called Kotori with his latest solo instalment, "Brooklyn Serenity". True to his free-flowing, widescreen approach towards production and life in general, Nhii (No Human Is Illegal) telekinetically escorts his listener onto a path of vibrant sensual psychedelia and eclectic wizardry that lack neither spirit nor oomph. 

As totemic silhouettes blend into a goosebump-inducing tapestry of polyrhythmic drums and stealth electronics, the opening cut "The Light Inside" - featuring Shrii's suave vocals - invites you to a whirling carnival of bleepin' and bloopin' extravaganza, packed to the brim with that trademark Nhii soulful punch. The further syncopated "Xylem" picks up the torch with swagger and attitude, pulling out a playful distillate of warm Jewish jazz clarinet, freq-shifting bass and frolicsome drums to satisfyingly deep yet dynamic effect. 

Hopping in on remix duty, B.o.T unbridles the original's horsepower with extra focus and emphasis on DJ use. Repurposed for no-nonsense dance floor traction, "Xylem" proves a highly efficient energy-booster while retaining all of Nhii's refined melodic touch and laid-back, smokey jazz vibes. Premium material for the jockeys out there, yes, but with that cracking, all-natural strut of Nhii we dig so much.

"The Clapping Song" is an American song, written by Lincoln Chase, originally arranged by Charles Calello and recorded by Shirley Ellis in 1965, shortly after Ellis had released "The Name Game".
The song returned to the charts when the British pop-rock band “The Belle Stars” covered the song in 1982, on their self-titled LP. Their version charted at number 11 in the UK, and number 4 in Australia.
In our edit we kept some original vocals but we added some electronic beats and modular bass to create fresh and high vibes. The result is an instant classic for every dancefloor.

About Chalanga:
Chalanga is an italian duo composed by DJ and producer Patrick Di Stefano and multi-instrumentalist Diego Grassedonio. Their project blends the energy of electronic music with the evocative power of live instruments: afro-futuristic percussions, psychedelic flutes and the shamanic presence of the saxophone.
