Opening track Cadenza explores an enigmatic African theme built on steady percussion and hazy vocals. Adding dramatism and nostalgia with whirl-winding synths, the construction reaches a floating peak point, evolving into a shimmering crescendo.

Gaivota plays with guitar clips and vocal loops to create an atmosphere of fragility and sentimental isolation. A solitary kick holds the track together and imprints structure onto the predominantly wavy melody, making it a great build up track.

Named after a North American Native tribe, Meskwaki steps things up with a stronger rhythm accompanying the wistful tribal vocals and undulating synths. Powerful percussive reverbs and low pitched drums create a seeming sense of calm, only to steer into a masterful drop, accompanied by avian chirps and trills.

Dear friends,
After a long time of hibernation it is time to reappear on the surface of the internet, I guess.
As many of you have been asking, I made a recording that continues the story of my „Travel Diary“, which started over two years ago.
So I am very happy to finally share „Travel Diary Part 2“ with you today!
It consists of tracks I produced over the course of this time, but never released or even used them for live playing. So now I am taking the opportunity to let them „out of the box“.
I really hope you enjoy it and to catch some of you at one of my upcoming summer shows!

Also I wanna take the chance to thank you all so much for your support over the past year, even though I had no musical output! 
It reminds me of the famous words by the poet Hafez, who said:

-  Even after all this time, the sun never says to the earth “you owe me“.
Look what happens with a love like that. It lights the whole sky.  -

About the Release:
Sol Selectas run by Sabo is a US label with a deep and melodic sound that fuses vibrant percussive grooves with a world music influence.

Taking samples from ethnic folk music and layering them over sequenced beats, the Sol Selectas style of house music is regularly supported by DJ’s all around the globe.

Multicultural, the label's roster of artists has included people from all four corners and featured track and remixes from the likes of UNER, Blond:ish, Acid Pauli, Nico Stojan and of course Sabo himself.

The latest Sol Selectas release is a collaboration between Sabo and Moroccan artist Amine K who before this release had featured on other labels such as Selador, Souvenir Music and Systematic Recordings.

Like all of Sabo’s releases this is heavenly influenced by his extensive world travels to experience different cultures, and this is reflected in its title “Tiniri” which means “Sahara” in the traditional Berber tribal language native to Morocco.

Also on the release is a remix from Matthias Meyer who’s highly sought after production skills have led to his impressive back of releases on labels including Anjunadeep, Saved Records, Bedrock, Watergate, Pets Recordings and Liebe*Detail.

Made during a studio session Marrakesh, the title track “Tiniri” opens with scene setting ambient sounds from the Medina. Recording the instruments and vocals specifically for this stunning cut of storytelling house music, the percussive energy and Arabic influence takes us on an audio journey of the hustle and bustle in one of Morocco’s biggest cities.

“Tiniri” is led by a prominent vocal recorded in Arabic, but for those who prefer to focus on the traditional Morocan instruments such as the Krake, Gembri, and Dharbouka which make up the core of its groove, there is also a dub version.

Matthias Meyer’s remix of “Tiniri” has a much more sequenced groove with a drum machine replacing some of the recorded percussion. He also adds his own synth melody that becomes the foundation for the original parts to be layered on top as ambient textures. Expertly programmed, this exquisite remix will no doubt be a firm favourite of DJ’s looking for a more refined version of the original.

Second of the two original cuts on the EP is "Amanar" that has tightly sequenced percussion layered under trumpets, which crackle like sand in the hot desert air. Building towards the main breakdown the track springs to life with a flamenco guitar with adds a vibrant sparkle to this majestic slice of deep house.
