Guy Laliberté - Histasie Feat. The Frog Collective

Sounds Of Khemit builds on the success of their first release by quickly following up with a superb various artist collection. A broad mix of artists from around the world all contribute to what is a brilliantly diverse album. 

The Sounds of Khemit label is focused on serving up music to transport the listener to higher states of consciousness, unlocking and strengthening our life mission on this planet. It aims to bring harmony and joy to people in their daily lives, and this new collection sure backs that up. 

LA-based deep house dreamer Sarkis Mikael kicks it off with 'Mountain Rising,' a gently undulating groove laden with bittersweet chords and keys that rise through the mix. UK duo Death on the Balcony has a stylish house sound and has released on the likes of All Day I Dream. They offer 'Lake Andromeda,' a humid roller with wispy pads and the gentle patter of toms papering the groove. Label co-founder Nhii and Wild Dark return to Sounds Of Khemit after contributing 'Hanga Roa' to the first EP. 'Dreamers' is seven seductive minutes of cloudy synths and pillowy drums that sink you in deep. 

Ykonosh is an up-and-coming Mexican duo composed of life-long friends. They have already turned heads with tunes on Underyourskin Records, and now 'Heka' takes you into a late night and exotic world of enchanting house music. Fabian Krooss is a Berlin-based talent who also appeared on this label's first EP. His 'Papilio' is beautifully delicate and roomy, with fractured melodies darting about over soft drums. Turkey's Serkan Eles has travelled between downtempo, ethnic and melodic house throughout his career. Here he does so to spine-tingling effect thanks to the heavenly vocal that hangs above his succulent house grooves. 

The Seville outfit Holed Coin always tends to tell musical stories that fuse the organic with the electronic. With 'Learning', they go slow, leaving you plenty of space and time to get lost in the arcing pads and jumbled percussive sounds. B.o.T's 'Poor Stranger' then gets more upright with a breezy house groove packed with melodic and percussive details. London based Kindisch artist Jim Rider brings the majestic 'Hunter's Harp,' before Jordanian pair and alternative desert house duo Fairplay deliver 'Things' a slice of eerie and atmospheric house. The album closes with Vruno, a Chile-born but Berlin-based artist who again showcases his naturalistic sounds with the epic strings and melodies of 'Pali Satty.' 

Khepri is a fine statement of musical intent from this already vital label.

Bibacumbe is the title track from another stunning compilation dropping on Sounds of Khemit this Friday. Dandara teams up with the powerful vocalist G Zamora for this melodic and mystic afro-latin cut. 

Sekhmet means nothing less than 'she, who is powerful.' The Egyptian deity is a warrior master, a master of healing and the destroyer of the enemies of the light, and she is the inspiration for the label's fourth thoughtful EP. 

Swiss DJ and producer Dandara and percussionist, singer and student of African rhythm G.Zamora kick off with 'Bibacumbe.' 

They combine European and world influences with 'Bibacumbe,' a deep groove peppered with rolling toms and Spanish vocals, infectious strings and soulful synths. Mexican Tanit is a real fiesta DJ who has landed on the likes of Go Deeva. Her immersive 'Nomus' is an atmospheric roller with an airy mystic melody and rolling rubber drums. It's full of life and intriguing natural motifs that keep you hypnotised. Lastly, the versatile VRuno is a music composer and multi-instrumentalist passionate about organic world music and slow techno.

 He impresses with 'Birds', which has melancholic piano chords draped over the heartfelt drums. It's a heady track with a thoughtful mood that takes you deep into the night. ‘Empowering Sekhmet’ features a trio of escapist and evocative house tracks.

Niko Schwind and Robbie Akbal team up in Berlin last year during a few studio sessions collaborating with Ay Sarita to wrap a powerful organic anthem called ¨Caminando de Noche¨ filled with mystic elements and driving music .

It was a great tune featured in our 15 years of Akbal Music compilation, that we asked Noraj Cue and Landikhan , some amazing producers at the moment to remix the track.

Noraj Cue from Happy Campers and Tale & Tone delivers a fat groover with shinny melodic elements & epic journey on the breakdown playing nicely with the vocal and some quirky sounds finalizing a great arrangement.

Landikhan from Spain delivers a more mid tempo indie disco ish vibes oriented remix very groovy and full of great sounds that will make some magic all around.
Such a wonderful pair of remixes, we are more than excited to welcome this two hyper talented producers to the Akbal Music family.

"Sabo’s record label Sol Selectas presents a collaborative release by Spanish artists German Brigante and Yamil. Along with the three originals, the EP also features remixes by Amine K, and Mr. ID.

German Brigante is an eclectic producer whose music has has featured on labels such as Get Physical and Bar 25. He has previously contributed to one of Sol Selectas’ Summer Sol compilations and this is his first full EP on the imprint.

Yamil is already a member of the Sol Selectas family who has appeared on a number of the label's releases as both a remixer and original artist. He has also worked with labels ranging from Super Flu's Monaberry to Pipe & Pochet.

The original tracks are organic house with vibrant percussion and traditional Moroccan instruments layered with sequenced beats. Spain and Morocco are neighbours so share similar cultures, and German Brigante plus Yamil are both influenced by the traditional Gnawa music of Morocco.
Amine K has previously featured on Sol Selectas when collaborating on music with Sabo, but he has also provided solo tracks, and worked with other labels including Tiefschwarz's Souvenir Music and Dave Seaman's Selador.

Mr. ID drops his debut on Sol Selectas after previously working with the likes of Kerri Chandler's Kaoz Theory, and he brings his skilled musicianship and afro rhythms to this EP.

"Kibo" features the incredible vocals and guembri playing of Mehdi Nassouli, and it has a unique organic sound fuelled by the tones of a lush bassline. Its sun-drenched melody synth and dramatic percussion fills give it a great upbeat groove. The remix by Mr. ID, takes the song even deeper into soulful, deep house territory, a style Mr. ID is well-known for. [...]

Pandhora is taking the original on a more Dancefloor focused approach. There is a distinct contrast between the deep / groovy bassline and the smoother, almost jazzy chord progression. Replacing the organ chords with funk guitar strums adds a subtle French flare to their edit.

Sol Selectas welcomes back Polish artist Raidho with a fresh 3 song EP, including remixes from Ameme & NenaHalena, LUM, and West & Hill.

The lead song “Jaguar Dance” is a deep interpretation of a Detroit Techno classic. With a long emotional intro, beautiful drum programming and key work which take influence from the original, combined with superb musicianship from collaborator T.Etno, this song is already an instant hit.

On the remix we have production duo Ameme and NenaHalena, who warp the original into a powerful Afro House jam. The off kilter percussion, synth stabs, and long extended breakdown whirls the crowd into an absolute frenzy.

“Whispers” is a mid tempo groover, with notes of tropical percussion, ancestral chants, and ethereal vocals swirling in and out. West & Hill is new on the label, and takes the original into even deeper house territory, adding lush piano keys, guitar licks, and uplifting pads.

“Slow Life” brings down the tempo with rich tabla percussion, a groovy bass line ,and moody synth work. Our dear friend LUM offers two remixes of “Slow Life”, the first one takes us into minimal tech, reminiscent of classic Luciano, with deep grooves, vocal stabs, and tribal percussion. The final interpretation is for those After hours moments, where reality and dreams fuse into one consciousness. Spiritual flutes and liquid bass notes pulse in and out taking the listener to new dimensions.

The artwork by Helia Jamali takes us on a journey through the heart of the jungle, in its chaotic, yet so organized, state of being.
