After collaborating with the likes of Terry Lee Brown Jr, Lola continues her musical journey with releases on Mixcult and a debut vinyl EP on the well-regarded BERG AUDIO label, featuring reworks from the scene’s favorites, Janeret & Priku ft. Dinu. 

There is no doubt Lola is only at the start of her artistic path, with many more exciting news to come.

1. How and where was the mix recorded?
I recorded the mix in Lisbon, my current home. It was a breeze selecting tracks from my collection, adding a touch of the city's vibrant energy to the mix.

2. Can you tell us about the idea behind the mix?

Sure! The idea behind the mix was to capture the essence of spring with a blend of new and unreleased tracks. I wanted to create a fresh and uplifting vibe that resonates with the blooming atmosphere of the season.

3. What are you up to next? Projects, ideas…

I'm thrilled about the upcoming release on Luck of Access, featuring the flawless work of my friend and incredible producer, Stojche. I had the pleasure of remixing one of his tracks, and I can't wait for everyone to hear it. Stay tuned.

4. Lastly, for you what is Dance, Shake, Swing!?

Haha, it's definitely an awesome journey that is accessible to everyone who wants it. The elevation of spirit and perfect rhythms for the feet!

If you're familiar with the minimal movement, with captivating basslines, with techy grooves and progressive-ish atmospheres, you can't not know the NTFO. The Timisoara-based duo has totally shaped the current sound, adding to the classic minimalistic groove structure a good dose of pulsating basslines, emotional synths and easy-to-dance-to elements. Over the last 10 years or so, they've released loads of beauties on labels such as PIV, Bondage, AdMaiora, Organic, Djebali and their own Sintope, which has rapidly become the perfect home base to showcase the "NTFO" sound. Having said that, we hope you'll enjoy this 1-hour journey from these two Romanian sound ambassadors.

We are happy to present Groove & Flavor Premium Podcast #003, this time our Frenchie friend, Janeret.

Mickael Jeanneret is one of a handful of talented rising French
DJ-producers signed to Yoyaku, the Paris-based record label, record
store, and booking agency. As Janeret, he performs regularly through
Europe, but has also toured through Japan, Australia, and the
Americas, acknowledged for his energetic sets that incorporate
minimal house and breaks. He’s also widely known for his production
work: a steady stream of exceptional EPs have established him as
“pretty much a purchase-on-sight artist, which is a rarity,” writes
one Discogs user.

Janeret grew up in Grenoble, a city in south-eastern France, but has
called Paris home since 2010. It was around this time that he began
“taking production seriously,” he explains; his earliest experiments
had started several years earlier. He marked his relocation to the
French capital with a slew of releases on various imprints, but it
wasn’t until 2015’s Heat EP that Janeret began to feel comfortable
with his production methods and style, a smooth take on deep house
with a solid groove.

The reception of these early works saw Janeret sign to Yoyaku, now a
flag-bearer of the French minimal music scene. Under the supervision
of Varhat and Benjamin Belaga, the two co-founders, Yoyaku has
launched a number of sub-labels through which Janeret and his peers
have released, including YYK no label and Aku.

Elsewhere, Janeret also heads up Joule Imprint through which he has
released music from Teluric and Roger Gerressen, among others.
Janeret launched the label with his 2016 Bright EP which featured a
Varhat remix.
