Deetron’s debut EP for Running Back is an amalgam of some of the key virtues of both parties involved:  the evocative and glorious power of the early days of rave (see cover art for further reference), emotional house, melodious techno, a beatless beauty and a firmly polished dance floor. Over the years, the Swiss producer has proven that his skill set and philosophy (underpinned by his mastery of the DJ trade) is perfect for such a mixture. 
The EPs title track is the result of an extensive research in quiet storm soul records and their influence on traditional house music. „T-Symmetry“ and „TXT“ make extensive use of Roland’s classic JX-8P synthesizer with very different outcomes and the certainty that the idea trumps the tools. Euphoric UK breakbeat pianos and Detroit techno soul can be made with the same mind and machine as well as in any time or place. A record full of fun, finesse and fantasy. Deetron, we salute you!

For this edition of the LFRMX-series Len Faki is turning to 1990‘s trance and acid. The bpm might be lower than back in the days, but there‘s just as much energy coming off these irresistible tunes in their updated versions.

Featuring the original‘s sizzling synth work by Kompakt co-founder Wolfgang Voigt‘s early collaborative projects, Planet Love Ink strikes an upbeat chord in order to show off its grand piano break for maximum effect.

Equally tapping into the early nineties, Structure – We are Structure is a weighty acid banger with no frills attached. Straight, honest and nailing era‘s vibe to the core. B-Side‘s all about old school trance, booming breaks, and epic synth-sweeps, in this instantly captivating, elevating and driving rework of Illuminatae – Tremora del Terra, a hymn to many back in the days.

Drumcode mainstay Bart Skils links up with emerging DJ/producer Weska for a maiden collaboration.

The duo first met in 2013 when Bart played Toronto’s iconic Coda, where Weska was a regular. In friendship and in music, they clicked effortlessly. Since then, the Dutchman has become one of DC’s most vital contributors, releasing a consistent stream of standout productions on the label, highlighted by the now-classic ‘Your Mind’ with Adam Beyer. Meanwhile the rhythmic power of Weska’s productions caught the ear of Beyer who gave the young Canadian his debut on the imprint with ‘Other Places’ when ‘A-Sides Vol.7’ dropped last summer.

When Weska migrated to Berlin a plan was hatched to collaborate, with the pair swapping ideas back and forth, before linking up in Amsterdam to finish the work. The propulsive ‘Polarize’ EP is the result, a pair of cuts that have highlighted Beyer’s gigs at Department Festival in Stockholm, Junction 2 and his behemoth B2B with Cirez D at EDC Vegas. The title cut packs a punch with rugged basslines and pin-sharp percussion, while stabs of melody dip in and out with euphoric effect. ‘Lost On You’ is a heady trip into the abyss with a sinister vocal line and powerful climax.

Maceo Plex’s taste-making Ellum Audio serves up a sizzling EP from Madben, featureing a remix from men of the moment Brame & Hamo.

Frenchman Madben has a healthy reverence for Jeff Mils and Detroit techno that infuses all his work. He has been mentored by Laurent Garnier and released on a wealth of quality labels from Bedrock to Suara. A resident of the Rex Club in Paris where he puts on his MAAD parties, he is now a regular in the best clubs around Europe where he serves up his always profound sounds, something he does again here.

First up is the fantastic ‘Blooming’, with its old school rave styles and dusty breakbeats. Euphoric chords light up the whole thing and it’s a tune that is sure to get hands in the air.

Brame & Hamo are Irish sensations who are based in Berlin and known for big tunes that range from house to techno to disco. After establishing their own label they step out with a remix that is superbly stripped back. On deep rolling drums, sleek synths unfold and take you on a cosmic adventure that is well paced and cinematic.

Madben’s ‘Enjoy Yourself' is well-crafted techno with a sense of progression in the ever-evolving lead synths. Rumbling drums provide the power below and filtered, whispered vocals are an intriguing detail up top. 

Last of all, ‘Haze’ is a prickly track with snappy mental drums, off kilter synths that twist and turn and a dark energy that is tinged with industrialism.

This is a fresh techno offering that comes with plenty of new ideas that are all expertly executed.

Enamour has come out of nowhere in the last year, the DC native putting in hours of dedication both in the studio and booth to claim numerous top 10 Beatport records and support from some of the biggest names in dance music, including Deep Dish, Pete Tong, and Danny Howard. His collaboration with Rinzen, “Quark,” made a huge splash this spring as part of our Four Points III package, and then he quickly followed up with an ace remix for Made By Pete. Now, Enamour makes his solo debut on Yoshitoshi with “Amnesia” and “Taboo,” two blistering cuts that demonstrate exactly why the up-and-comer is a force to be reckoned with.

“Amnesia” sits squarely between the worlds of techno and progressive house. It’s an aggressive tune that effortlessly fuses a tough, peak-time groove with the wistful arpeggiated melodies that he has become known for. A beefy, distorted bass riff takes up the energy level even further, causing absolute wreckage in the club. “Taboo” is more of the same, but on a slightly deeper and tribal note. The track builds with incredible intensity as Enamour’s analog synth crescendos and expertly programmed percussion lead into a powerhouse drop and true hands-in-the-air moment. 

It’s truly exciting to see such talent from a DC producer, the city Yoshitoshi has called home since its inception in 1994. Enamour is a true talent to look out for. Grab “Amnesia / Taboo” on Beatport and Spotify on August 2nd.

Having rinsed 'Ripcord' in various sets and LNOE podcasts this year, Sasha's new track has been in high-demand for fans eagerly awaiting it to surface. It follows his recent remix of SYML's ‘The Bird’ and the wickedly popular collaboration ‘The Lights’ with Kölsch, two cuts getting the treatment on countless dancefloors around the world. Spencer Parker returns to Rekids with looping techno roller ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ featuring remixes from Truncate, P.Leone, Fadi Mohem and label boss Radio Slave.

Released on last year’s ‘Dance Music’ album via Parker’s own Work Them Records, ‘You’re Under My Control Now’ is an infectious and mesmerising techno banger that’s garnered support from the likes of Midland, Len Faki, Amelie Lens and Marcel Dettmann.

One of the track’s biggest supporters, Radio Slave is now releasing it on Rekids with a medley of top tier remixes. Radio Slave’s reimagining scales back on the original’s high-octane energy, instead taking a more uplifting direction with an arpeggiated bassline, meandering synths and clattering percussion.

A regular on Seilscheibenpfeiler (alongside artists like FJAAK, Solid Blake and Kasper Marott), Fadi Mohem is next with a dark and atmospheric rendition complete with driving kicks, subterranean chords and echoing effects before Truncate serves up his cavernous ‘Mind Control’ Remix which combines tantalising melodies with robust drums and murky vocals.

E-Missions co-founder P.Leone and Radio Slave, having paired up for a remix of Deep Dimension last year, collaborate again here to provide a robust, compelling piece of house music littered with breathy samples and oscillating atmospherics.
