Young Irish-producer Rebūke continues his rapid ascent to the top with two original productions on Hot Creations, primed and ready for the dancefloor.

Rebūke recalls being worried that Along Came Polly may have been perceived as being “a bit too weird”, but once it caught the attention of Jamie Jones, there was no stopping it. He says that the hype surrounding this EP “is something I’ve never experienced before...and it always get a great reaction”.

On Along Came Polly, Rebūke showcases his innate ability to craft a weirdly, wonderful slice of techno. On the B-side, Rolo is a much housier affair, weaving together a bouncier bassline and sultry vocal stab.

The alias of Reuben Keeney, Rebūke, has only been in business for a short while, but his efforts have already proved to be fruitful. He has garnered support from the likes of Nic Fanciulli and released on labels including Saved and DFTD, as well as having a successful club night under his belt, where highly regarded names such as Camelphat, Darius Syrossian, Ejeca and Huxley have all played.

Outplay was founded in 2012 by Dutch producer duo Fouk, otherwise known as Daniel Leseman & Junktion.  The label focuses on the deeper side of house and for their next release it’s a three track affair by the elusive and ever so mysterious Clive from accounts.
 
Number cruncher extra-ordinaire by day, brilliant music producer by night, Outplay are pretty amped to release this EP by the self proclaimed “regional tiddlywinks champion” and “all-round beige sky thinker” Clive.  Who says office workers are drones? Loitering around the coffee machine surely has had no bad effect on his creative juices.  
 
Clive first sent in a one track demo of “Bisou” and the label was blown away by the top notch production quality, feeling that it really stood out from anything else in their inbox.  Over the course of a year Outplay asked Clive to fill out an EP.  The end result is a record with three very strong tracks, each with its own character.  “Keep Movin” is perfect for big dance floors and filthy sweaty clubs.  The title track “The Trouble With Clive” has that big beefy garage effect going on.  The EP closes out with “Bisou” - a floaty warm stabby breaks affair with nods to the classic deep house sound.   Oh ….and I’m supposed to tell you that it’s Hawaiian shirt day on Friday!

The deep synth pad gives a warm contrast to the minimalistic beat and is floating organically throughout the 4-minute arrangement. Tracker completes the package and sounds more abstract. It’s a stripped-back track with expert beats, tribal percussion layers, coatings of sound fx, and a killer bassline. A strong, lush follow-up EP.

Adding his voice and accompanied by drums and AV, he seeks the evolution/revolution of his sound through the destruction/distortion of it, showing it not only as a technical resource but as a vision of his reality from a punk approach. This reality is ephemeral and cyclical
and based on failure as a requirement for creating it. How love, hate and fear interact alternating themselves, giving as fruit a personal growth and new inspiration. As he defines it, it has been a work in which he has felt to be extracted from the darkness every colour that shapes it.

ROB/STAR adds layers of sound, which are complemented by a percussion work that invites you to travel on each chord without leaving aside the distortion and dirty noise of 'ANSWVR'.
