Lucid strives to create a platform for Musicians & Artists that are not only providing us aesthetics for our eyes and ears, but to build a space where we may be moved, inspired & left more awake and connected:  to our bodies, in our consciousness, in the inter-contentedness of inter-cultural music and art…from Hip-Hop to House, deep-rare grooves to Organic-Electronic, music & dancing are our passions.

Lucid aspires to be free from dogma or belong to any sub-culture. Following on from his Tamoanchan EP inspired by the landscapes and diversity of Mexico, El Búho presents "Chinampa" - the twin EP this time inspired by the sprawling Mexico City or Distrito Federal. Chinampa comes from the Nahuatl work for an old agricultural practice of growing crops on the lake beds in the Valley of Mexico, often on floating islands that can still be seen today if you take one of the beautiful trajinera canal boats in the iconic area of Xochimilco. Though the album is a dedication to "DF´s" urban sprawl, it digs down deeper to find inspiration in the cities inherent ties to water and to ways of life - past and present. 

"Salto de Agua", now a bustling metro stop used to mark the end of the ancient Chapultepec aqueduct - one of the series of canals that allowed the Aztecs to navigate the city. Meanwhile, "Al Tianguis" is a nod to the city´s renowned market´s (tianguis), a tradition that has existed for hundreds of years and remains a crucial part of city life and culture. "Pasale" is a word that you hear all over the city, but especially on its public transport system like the infamous green pesero buses that race through the city streets, booming out classic cumbias or banda and the unwritten rules of traveling on these beasts. The final track, "Temporada de Lluvia", was inspired by the immense downpours during the city´s rainy season from June to September when for a few hours in the afternoon the city is transformed back into its ancient watery past. The city swells with water as the major roads around the city become flooded canals and chaos descends. 

UK born, Robin Perkins AKA El Búho is now based in Paris but spent the last two years living, working, playing and producing music in México City.

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Mit dem KAUZ an der Hand und dem EISBÆR auf dem Dach. Endlich auch dabei zur Vor- und Einstellung, Ver- und Entzückung, macht halt Miteinander Musik: Luke Redford. Lichtgestalt des Züricher Nachtlebens und Schlossherr der Herzen zwischen Melonen und Jolifanten. Ganz kurz mal auf Pause, heute endlich hier. Gefällt uns ganz schön gut.

After being blown away by so many awesome tracks with so much feeling and soul I felt myself taking a completely new musical direction & had to explore more. I grew up with the Balearic Sound and it never really left me. This type of sound reminds me of the hidden Ibiza with the hippies jamming with live hypnotic percussion, mountainous backgrounds and rolling seas. This mix showcases many different instruments and influences from around the world that I have been lucky enough to see and experience. I hope you like this story..
