"This is a recording of a very special New Year's Eve spent on the magical island of Chacahua, in the heart of Oaxaca in Mexico.  

Athenaïs & Arnau Amatista had the pleasure of playing b2b at a local music festival called "El Festi" for the first sunrise of 2022. 
The crowd was dancing on fire, the moon was lit up by the sun slowly replacing it and some were running into the wild ocean for their first swim of the year.

The last Mbuki Mvuki Mix of the year… but certainly not the least! It’s the dutch busy bee https://soundcloud.com/rochelle-dietz who presents us a very special listening experience to take the mind on an ever developing trip. 

Soon after Rochelle moved to the city Utrecht about 10 years ago she saw a DJ playing with vinyl and she instantly felt this was something she just had to get her hands on. After countless days of dedication and practicing she hopped to her first gig with a bag full of records and courage. The DJ who inspired her most back then? Her partner DJ Balu, who taught her most of her skills. They started hosting ‘Birdcage Radio’ and they quickly grew from Podcast Platform to organizing parties and suddenly being with a huge crew. 4,5 years fast forward they are a community with a massive (170m2) hub in Utrecht and their radio is live every day on Twitch with various artists and genres. Everyone is welcome, so check them out: you are invited! 

Rochelle Dietz really loves DJing in the flow without much preparation. She is an exquisite storyteller with a keen eye for knowing what the crowd needs and always finding side paths to experiment. For this Mbuki Mvuki Mix however, she felt like thinking it through and through… From an almost meditative state we rise from our seats until we need to move and sway. The end leaves us hanging, longing for more movement, more growth. Ready to start something new. Get ready for the new year!
